I absolutely love the morality in this show. It's not heavy-handed (mostly) and it's incredibly nuanced. It also helps that I generally agree with the worldview and the mores that the show seems to promote. The humanity and sensitivity in Avatar blows a lot of the more "mature" shows out of the kiddie pool. I

Azula (appropriately) gets all the best taunts.

Yep.  For them, it was Tuesday.

As much as I really do love The Boiling Rock for the pithy one-liner overload it contains (among other things), I admit its characterization of prisons seems incredibly unrealistic (not having spent time in one, thank goodness, I can't be sure, but I suspect).  And yet… I don't care.

At best, it sounds like a tremendously potent potable.

Yeah, Mai says to Zuko that the way she knew is "the warden's my uncle, you idiot."  I assume that Mai told Azula and Azula gave Mai and Ty Lee a lift in her balloon galleon thingy.

The finale can be watched an unlimited number of times and still be fresh.  It's science.

These are either the clear, pristine waters of a naturally filtered hot spring, perfect for a soothing cup of jasmine tea! … or the waters of a volcanic caldera filled with noxious fumes… which Hayden says are deadly poisonous.

"Oh, I'll show you LIGHTNING!!!"

Oh no! I knew it was only a matter of time! APPA ATE MOMO!

This show is so well-written.  I have a handful of lines that are tied for first.  A few from The Boiling Rock.  That one is damn fine.  The writers give Dante Basco and Grey DeLisle great material toward the end of Season 3 and they create pure magic with it.

I have been trying to say "Because I'm a people person" in daily life as much as I can, but I feel I've fallen down on the job so far.  I'm already an only child, so that strikes another of the epic Azula lines.  I have, however, had great success fitting "What, are you going to challenge me to an Agni Kai? No

That episode is rife with lines I have to applaud at every time I see them.  "That's rough, buddy" may be the best, but we cannot forget winners like:

SPOILER (I knew I'd have one)

I'm with you (and Close-watcher up there) here.  While Azula's statement is jarring and out of line with the teachings of the rest of the show — I think that's because Azula, as well as this episode and story arc, are jarring and out of line with the teachings of the rest of the show so far.  The bad guys are just

Uhhh SPOILER

So saith Hayden: "I was going to make a joke about Two-Face and Batman here, but I think
that I may have burnt up my daily allotment of nerdy pop-culture
references now."
