I don't know, Marvel still uses Deadpool and old man Logan/X-23 a lot, and doesn't have the rights to either. (I do think Marvel might be pissed at how bad 20th century Fox fucked up the Fantastic Four, and that is why there is no more FF comics)

Few shows have alternated so much between doing decent world-building (Wesen's powers, the locks) and just completely ignoring everything else. I missed some early episodes, but I think we still have no idea how prevalent Wesen are, and If Portland is just some kind of hot zone for them. Also, the show never really…
I was just about to say that I can't remember another show that replaced so many female cast members with wacky males that can play off the lead/be romantic interests.. It is Mindy's show and she can do what she wants, but I always though that was kind of shitty of her.
Mon-El does mean less "James" Olsen, but I don't think anyone is really complaining about it.
I still read the av club every day, but I think there is a near consensus that the site's original pop culture coverage stared to decline is 2013 and never really recovered. It might just be budget issues, but it is unfortunate.
Apparently Henny Youngman would do the same thing, although he seemed to be a good guy and well-liked. Youngman also never really had the same level of radio success as Berle, and might have just wanted to make sure he never ran out of money.
As much as some critics love to say that superhero blockbusters have ruined cinema, when you look at the best picture nominees for the late 80's you usually only have one or two really good dramas per year.
Of course, Robocop is amazing and the 80's did provide us with some truly amazing action films.
I was just about to say that with Ruth Wilson part of her murderous look is due to her joker-like smile.
See, I much preferred The Crown because I feel like this show is not really going into many details of Victoria's reign. It references things like grinding poverty and the Chartists, but they are just minor side stories to Victoria's romance.
The Crown actually gives you a good feel for how worried the monarchy/UK was…
Oh yeah, I definitely think shows for younger children are fine. I never watched any Rugrats because I was ten when it came out, and it was intentionally geared towards six year olds. I think All That was trying to get the 12 year olds that watched Pete and Pete, etc, but was just done really badly.
I am bit older than some of y'all (born 1981), and All That was definitely the show that let me know I was too old/sophisticated for Nick. I had grown up with Double Dare and YCDTOTV, but was still a big a fan of Ren and Stimpy, Pete and Pete, and game shows like GUTS.
I was already watching repeats of SNL and Kids…
I don't know. Clinton was really charismatic in the 90's, and so was 1980's Reagan to a lesser extent. SNL and Conan could be pretty brutal towards Clinton.
I think SNL is going to miss Killam more than Lorne realizes. Unless they bring in someone really good, the males on the cast are pretty limited. Mooney is always doing weirdos, Keenan should have been fired years ago, and Pete Davidson just can't act. He is a stand up who just plays himself in every sketch. Guess…
In recent Spiderwoman comics the Daily Bugle is depicted as financially troubled.
You are correct, I was mixing her up with Zdarsky. It has been a while since I read Squirrel Girl, and was associating her with Howard the Duck (they did have a crossover).
I think that at least since the 1980's Inhumans no longer keep the Alpha Primitives as slaves. I imagine the movie would probably just skip over that.
I like the comic, but Zdarsky might be the worst artist at Marvel or DC. Except for Greg Land, he's the only comic artist that doesn't seem capable of drawing people talking. Characters just have crazy open mouth expressions.
I'm unsure whether Marvel has the movie rights. She was considered a mutant until Marvel did a really blatant origin retcon last year to try and get the rights.
Thor the Dark World's main flaw, which a fair number of Marvel movies share, is that it gave really short shrift to the main villain. If you had never read the comics you would have no idea why Malekith was supposed to be so powerful. I enjoy the Captain America movies, but wish they had done a better job with the…
I realize it wasn't really animated, but parents seemed to completely avoid the BFG despite it getting decent reviews. Guess Dahl stories are too highbrow now (unless they are getting ruined by Tim Burton).
