It would be if it didn't feature the exact same character and the planet the movie takes place on weren't explicitly tied to Earth. In the original book, it's just shown to be an example of parallel evolution. In the Burton movie it's shown to be time travel shenanigans.

One of my favorite nerd arguments that I like starting is that the current Apes movies in no way overwrite the previous ones, since the timeline changes significantly after "Escape" due to the time traveling of Zira, Milo, and Cornelius. I just assume these are the "original" timeline before it gets altered.

I always just assumed it was supposed to be a post-nuclear desert…I mean, it is thousands of years in the future.

Is that some sort of sex thing the kids are doing?

He's basically a study of what the typical AV Club commenter would go through without the Internet.

Um, I said "Most recent work." That English construction doesn't change if he hasn't made something in four decades. And that was entirely my point.

You need better friends!

I've heard those theories, but since we saw the two of them interacting without any evidence that there was ever a "split," I don't entirely understand them.

Donna's being played by a talking hat-rack from which assorted cardigans hang. It's her "evolution."

Keep in mind said troll has not yet actually blocked anyone.

My mistake — no worries either way.

It doesn't look like a tail to me, I don't even see a connect point. But I acknowledge I'm probably wrong.

I think the main difference though is that Cooper didn't actually EXPERIENCE what his doppelganger has been up to. It won't open up any horrific floodgates of memory because this was a flat-out impostor.

I may try it again eventually. Part of it was almost certainly the fact that I was in a s—ty mood at the time. I remember adoring it the first time around. And David Rasche is always great, especially onstage.

I confess I saw it on one of the streamers recently, got very excited, and couldn't make it through the first episode. Some of my tastes as a pre-teen have apparently changed.

I think Abe Vigoda is majestic.

Not this particular commenter, no. He's one of the handful of trolls who keep posting nine episodes in about how bad the show is an how anyone who thinks otherwise is a sheep.

Bauer played him in three of the four episodes the character appeared in.

Honestly, that's pretty much everyone I've known with hearing problems.

I mean, JUST THIS MONTH saw the return of "Battle of the Network Stars."
