This weekend we stayed close to home. The coming weeks are going to bring about much holiday travel (that is if you count a trip to Chicago to see The Hobbit @ 48 FPS), so we were more-or-less couch-bound, in the best possible way.

I'm really impressed with this year's "prestige" season. This weekend we saw Life of Pi, which I loved, and Killing Them Softly, which was good, if talky, actorly and heavy handed.

My wife and I were just re-watching The Runaways over the weekend and she said, "Hey! It's Half-Sack from Sons of Anarchy!" And now this. So…coincidence…

I know everyone has been eagerly checking my weekly posts to see how many hours I've clocked on Fallout: New Vegas. Well, this weekend I quit. Gah! my love/hate relationship with these games. About 25 hours ago (game-time) I made a decision that vilified me in the eyes of the NRC. I was trying to wrap up the main

I use the VATS function and it tends to a) kill things dead and b) explode the bodies up in comically over-the-top fashion. I prefer that system to the inconsistent hack and slash technique of Elder Scrolls.

It is a lot of fun. And really addictive (I'm at work and all I can think about is which mission to continue during my lunch break). I have the PS3 edition and I was marveling at the repair job they did on its countless bugs. When I picked it up around the release date, I had to re-boot my system over and over and

I'm still playing Fallout: New Vegas. So far 107 hours.

This is an odd question because after the explosion of TV on DVD, I marathon so much that I "memorable" isn't how I'd decribe any of it. But let's see…
-lost weekends of bong hits and Real World marathons
-countless marathons of the entire series of Buffy and Angel
-Re-reading Y: The Last Man and Ultimate Spider-Man in

We flipped a coin over seeing Premium Rush or Lawless and Lawless won out. And it sucked. The film wants to be, like The Proposition, a conflict among archetypes, but it's also extremely narrative. Sadly, hardly any of the storylines amount to anything (why was Gary Oldman in this movie?) so it was hard to stay

My favorite living filmmaker.

It was a weekend of watching ill-gotten media. Watched Battleship but it really couldn't hold my attention very well. Looks good and not without talent in front of the camera. But weirdly hookless, interms of compelling reasons to keep my eyes on the screen.
