"Rinse the Raindrops" from Driving Rain. Also "Beware My Love" from Speed of Sound is pretty damn heavy, even a little proggy, I'd caution to say. "Back to the Egg" is rock in the sense that it was his idea of punk at a time when punk was obviously harder.

I think "Dookie" is still tops. Crunchy and quick and blows you away at times. "Insomniac" is very good. I actually like "Nimrod" a hell of a lot. That was the big album *just* before they actually realized they could do a big album. You can't tell me "King For a Day" isn't the bee's knees.

"What a fun, sexy time for you" is up there with "banger in the mouth," "musty old claptrap" and "pop-pop in the attic" as pantheon quotes.

I agree. I haven't seen enough to have a definitive opinion of Oswalt, but yeah, the amount of Oswalt overexposure that comes regularly from A/V Club turns me off a bit. I mean, he's good, sure, but he's not Steve Martin in the early 1980s. The amount of Oswalt coverage here makes it seem that way.
