Just wrong.

Just wrong.

Nobody's mentioned "Smile Away." That's a great track.

Yeah "Two of Us." I own it (mom bought it for me for Christmas). It's cute and a little teary, too. Not a bad look, really, but I haven't looked at it since the time I watched it. (Though I haven't much looked at the Anthology either since I watched those.)

And don't forget that fucking descending "lo-ah-ah-ah-ahhh-ah-ah-ahhh-ah-ahh-ah-ove!" in the verse. Good lord he could write melody into the word ugh

So all the ad-libbed lines that were funny at first are now plot points.

At least release the album in June or something, so that it allows the possibility of a summer soundtrack. Damn.

I'm late to this, and maybe this has been brought up, but what if NBC did something completely radical?

EC was being pretty pithy tongue in cheek with GCW. I think at that point he knew his music just wasn't nailing the masses, and he was probably unhappy with GCW (production, he was doing some drugs I believe). That said, it's still a solid record, certainly better than Kojak and Almost Blue.

(Peers into future)

So egotistical and Christlike while aspiring too hard not to be hipster. Ugh.

Well I should say I'm not bashing it at all. I just haven't watched it. Kind of don't want to watch it. At least now. Probably others are bashing it without seeing it, but that's just unfair.

This is exactly how I feel. Down to the last period. And when her character says the "voice of my generation" line in the pilot, even if it's a joke, and Dunham is writing it to say "look at this f***ing girl with her ideas," there's still this sense inside that goes, "f*** this Dunham, that should be me."

Far Away Places  …

I agree with this. And I'm with you. I started with "Something/Anything?" and bought the previous two, then bought "Wizard" and was floored. Later I'd get into "Todd," which is my favorite.

That would be the "Todd Rundgren's Johnson" show, in which he plays some Robert Johnson tunes, then alternates with some of his own bluesier tunes. Another great thing about Todd: expectational sense of humor.

Todd and Daryl did a phenomenal job harmonizing "Want of a Nail." And the backyard Hawaiian luau version of "Bang on the Drum" is hilariously inspired (also from "With a Twist").
