I think an issue with the fan community is that it grew out of places like 4chan, and combative internet people aren't going to suddenly stop being combative internet people because they got into an unexpected tv show.

I Wish by R Kelly's pretty great and heartfelt too.

Does this mean that non-drinkers have no excuse for not being ripped? Or maybe the bodies of drinkers are just all "oh god, thank you so much" when they cut out the booze, and try and undo as much of the damage as possible during the alcohol-free window.

The Daily Mail also got dissed by Rihanna this week, so they're probably pretty happy the whole journalism as trolling thing's going so well.

@avclub-ad45e11f2e88b8963920c79cd1d8755e:disqus Maybe if someone put it on, I'd be "oh yeah, *that* song", but I really couldn't say if I've ever heard semi-Charmed Life. They were not big in the UK.

Not Roy! Not Roy!

I saw on Twitter the other day that Rob Schneider has belatedly jumped into the whole MMR vaccine/autism causation thing, which made me briefly nostalgic for a time when it would be almost impossible to know anything about what Rob Schneider thinks about anything.

Farewell Transmission is definitely the one.

Krumping for the faithful departed.

Totally. My flatmate found an old seventies Wurlitzer-type organ in the
bulk refuse room in the basement of our building. And he just really
wanted it.

To be fair, David Schwimmer.

Late response just to say that TMWWT is probably my favourite Broens films and possibly my favourite movie of all time.

But at this point he seems to have lost the capacity to amaze us. When he dashes into the writers' room to rally the troops, the CGC writers are impressed because what he's saying sounds like something the mythical Don Draper would say before dazzling everyone with his brilliance, whereas Peggy and Ginsberg are less

Yeah, really enjoying this album. I checked out a little after Last Days of Wonder, which didn't grab me apart from the title track, but this is great.

Great list. Although, I'm probably as baffled by level of acclaim for Chaos Theory as I have been about the reception of any episode of television.

Depends who you follow. Most of my timeline is made up of journalists, critics, politicians, tv writers and people who post really bizarre stuff. It's way, way more interesting than Facebook, and I probably value it as much as the AV Club in terms of being introduced to new stuff.

Don't even get me started on Psygnosis.

My friend found his old Amiga 500 recently, and that Batman game is absolutely brutal. Incredibly difficult, one life, three hits and you're dead. And it's so easy to get hit.

I think going maximalist and high-camp (aka Luhrmanising) is definitely more interesting than making an inert book of the month-type adaptation. Reverence for the text is all well and good, but I'm glad Luhrman's thumbing his nose at the solemnity that you're supposed to tackle PROPER LITERATURE with.

It really benefits from how pure the Bieb's voice is. Anything reversed and slowed down would probably sound pretty, but it's his voice which really brings out the "angels riding dolphins around glaciers in heaven" vibe.
