Mayhem ended up using a photo of their singer after he had shot himself as an album cover. Although if he might not have consented to it if he'd been alive after, so fair play to Bushwick Bill.
@avclub-77a30f3aed77aef3d4ed12bf43df6964:disqus Pinkie and Philippe for America. Rarity and Cornelius would totally hang out too.
Thanks for pointing that out man, you're pretty much the first person to do that on this article.
Thanks for the response, I probably won't jump straight into Korra then. But I gather there was a distinct point where Avatar jumped from being a straight-up kid's show into something more interesting. Is it worth starting from the beginning, or is there a point where Avatar fans agree that it stepped up a gear?
Friendship is Witchcraft is awesome. I never thought I'd like a fandub of anything, but recasting the, um, cast, as a war criminal, a cult leader, a nerdy fanfic writer, a time-travelling gypsy, an idiot and a war survivor with PTSD is oddly endearing. Great songs, too.
If you'd told me in April 2011 that a year from now I'd be ranking my top ten of My Little Pony season 2, I'd have honked adenoidal laughter at you and bid you good day.
I really enjoyed it. There were some eye-rolling "love conquers all" moments, but I was grinning like a maniac for most of the 45 minute run time, so I guess it wasn't that much of a demerit for me. Awesome finale. Best Night Ever was great too, but it didn't get me quite the same way.
See, I don't get this. I haven't seen Legend of Korra yet, look forward to watching it (is it an okay place to start for ATLA neophytes?). But are the comments of every Korra recap on here full of people going "yeah it's great, but we should really give a shout out to every other good cartoon out there right now"?
Twenty Twelve is great, glad it's been moved from Beeb 4 to Beeb 2. Jessica Stevenson is so much fun in it.
I really like it. Someone said a little earlier about how he didn't find it particularly subversive, but the lack of inverted commas is behind a lot of the charm.
Mel Gibson: Drink up, Judah Ben Hur
JBH: You truly are the King of Kings.
You're in luck man, Chan Marshall did an entire album with Mick Turner and Jim White of D3 as the backing band, called Moon Pix.
Co-option: it's not just for world music and outsider artists anymore!
Can we count seriously implying that Obama is the Manchurian Candidate as a side effect?
According to Snoop, one must control one's ho. It could be respectful sort of controlling though, like a hug.
You'd think Beirut fans would be more receptive to nasalness than most. I like Beirut, though. I just like Perfume Genius more.
@avclub-b98d7c7f25e969a9225df3287b4c4c42:disqus I really enjoyed it, it had a lot of Stephen King stock characters, some of whom had been a lot more fun elsewhere, but it kept its hooks into me the whole way through. Looking forward to his latest as well.
The show got more uneven, and then fell into a trough for a few years, now it's way more bearable. Probably just a mix of vastly reduced expectations and a slight return to form, but it's definitely not as bad as it used to be.
Bag of Bones is genuinely pretty awesome, definitely one of my favourite later-period Stephen King novels.
