Absolutely. It's totally subjective, obviously, but LES was the album that leapt out at me this year as AN IMPORTANT ALBUM PEOPLE WOULD BE TALKING ABOUT TEN YEARS DOWN THE LINE.

I picked up Fun House by Alison Bechdel today as a result of this article. It's fucking amazing.

I didn't like him. The lengths he went to retroactively justify his stance on the Iraq war in the face of all kinds of info to the contrary he distorted or ignored drove/drives me crazy.

That two page section on the evolution of Rosicrucianism is a so gorgeous. Actually, to my shame, I've just noticed that a few of his other works are translated, anything you'd recommend?

Epileptic is the best book I have read all year. The art is incredible, just gets increasingly elaborate and surreal as the family goes to increasingly outlandish means to try and find a cure for the epilepsy.

Seriously. The fuck, AV Club?

Fourthed. I feel like GI Joe was aware of the inherent ridiculousness of the whole thing and just made an enjoyably stupid movie. Transformers is actively unpleasant to sit through.

Hey, our neo-nazi parties got wiped out last election. The head of the party fired the webmaster, the webmaster barricaded the party server in his garage, it was all very professional.

"…suggesting composer Hans Zimmer may have abandoned his usual gossamer touch."

I do find myself going back to Cold War or Tightrope or Faster if I'm just playing a random track, but if you cue that album up from the start, it's a pleasure to listen all the way through. The fact that it's kind of a mess is part of its charm.

The melancholy alt-country funk shall rise again!

Ahh, simpler times. A good flame war could last for months, in the days of the carrier pigeon.

Preface with "Hey baby…", and you've got yourself a pretty serviceable chat-up line for mid-week over forties singles nights.

"Ye suck!".Anti-funny.

It's a shame about Hari, I didn't always agree with him but he was an interesting writer. But the fact that he didn't even seem to get what he was supposed to be apologising for initially said a lot.

I think if you talked to Woody Allen about that outline, it would take him quite a while to realise this isn't something he's already filmed.

I might actually pay money to see the new movie, and have that as my first experience of the Twilight franchise.

Hey, I read the Da Vinci Code for the same reason, and it can't be worse than that piece of shit.

I'm definitely going to pick up one of the books at some point. I'm interested in the whole craze, but I figure the films aren't the place to try and understand the mindset behind the fandom.
