Well, the main premise of Rucka's WW Rebirth so far is essentially "Wonder Woman vs. her own fucked-up continuity." So she doesn't know exactly which version of her past is correct anymore. Right now it seems as if they're settling on the version from George Perez's run, where the Amazons are the reincarnated souls of

My Weird-Ass New 52 Book of choice was Dial H. Some great crazy shit there, courtesy of China Mieville.

Yeah, whenever I'm at a comics conventions I always see loads of people Streetpassing left and right. Especially in line.

Two words: Pope fistfight.

Oh hey, I just picked up Renowned Explorers when it was on sale on Steam. I dig the cartoony art style, so I may try it out soon.

Oh crap, I missed your comments on "Married," didn't I? Damn my erratic work schedule! That segment rules! And it reveals so much about Helga's mentality! Anyway, I don't think Arnold and Helga's relationship could really be considered a "will they, won't they" situation, given how one-sided it was. Arnold may have

I'm not making any such rule. I'm saying that there's a greater degree of difficulty in creating a successful and relevant metaphor that doesn't misrepresent or shortchange the real issue, especially when the metaphorical and the real coexist in the same work.

Sounds like they have a show-don't-tell problem too. You can show me a bunch of people forced to live in a slum without needing to tell me up front that it's "mechanical Apartheid." I know what it is!

I don't agree with this argument, on the grounds that gun ownership is a choice and mutation is not, but I would agree that Cable at least belongs on some kind of watch list.

Hey, who's giving this report, you Shoggoth-heads or me?

I'm just kind of baffled as to why the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse seem to be on the cover to the Cthulhu game. They're a Christian thing, why would they be involved with Cthulhu? And why does the drawing of Cthulhu himself seem to be reaching out as us menacingly? Chtulhu doesn't care about us, maliciously or

I sacrificed my character in my first game of Arkham Horror, in that he was left in the void when the portals closed. He was a combat-oriented character, so I choose to believe he systematically sought out and murdered the Old Ones and crowned himself King of the Void.

That's the big dilemma with using sci-fi metaphors for social issues, really, that they can easily become redundant. The X-Men are a good example: at their creation, they were a perfect way to explore prejudice in a medium that was skittish (and under the Comics Code, discouraged) about addressing real-life injustice.

Aaand show's over, folks. Strange that Hulu didn't put "The Journal" last, as it's the one that feels most like a series finale. Wrapping up with ordinary episodes is a little unsatisfying, but in a way fits the Hey, Arnold! style: you don't necessarily get satisfaction, and life just keeps going on. Thanks for doing

Now, I don't use the word "hero" often…

Star Trek Beyond is brought to you by Thompson's Teeth. The only teeth strong enough to eat other teeth!

My roommate just told me that she's moving out at the end of the year to save money. The lease was in her name, so I'd have to take it over, and it'd be pretty expensive even with a new roommate. Don't get me wrong, it's a fucking fantastic apartment, worth every penny, but I don't have that many pennies to spare.

More Fallout 4: Far Harbor, most likely. I recovered DiMA's lost memories, which was a fun diversion but annoying in that you couldn't save midway through, so I wound up playing much longer than I wanted to. I'm also apprehensive about doing any quests for the Children of Atom, because they're all the kind of

Go Bears! I…will probably not be following Cal all that closely, being far away and all. But I'm sure my dad will have the play-by-play for me.

My ongoing goal of "find a full-time job in the field I trained for and enjoy" continues to elude me in ever more baffling fashion. But I may have a new angle or two to pursue.
