Huh, I hadn't remembered that Hey Arnold! was so late to the party. I will now return to my ongoing freakout about the Jungle Movie getting the green light.

I love "School Play" dearly, and can't help but see Helga's pursuit of the lead as a nod to Kind Hearts and Coronets (or, to keep the Shakespeare theme going, Iago). That scene with Lila is chilling, though. All her aw-shucks protestations aside, Lila knew exactly what was going on and played Helga like a fiddle. Her…
Rampant Flubber abuse.
MCCLOUD!
Cliff Clavin going on Jeopardy! most likely superseded that idea.
And then she disappears on the way home, and you wander into the graveyard, and her name is on a headstone, and it's covered in the very same puke!
Once when my family was on vacation, sometime in the late 90s, we stumbled on a local radio station that played nothing but the Macarena. Well, that and ads for a different radio station. It was quite odd.
Oh, since I didn't get a chance yesterday, I should mention that I too was a Quiz Bowl captain in high school. And college. And then I quit, because it became more work than fun and the winning teams were always made up of perpetual grad students.
One thing I like about "Girl Trouble" is that nothing actually gets resolved. Grandpa convinces Arnold to reach out to Helga to make amends, and…she blows her top and pushes him away, just like she always does. One pep talk isn't going to break through her well-developed defense mechanism. The overarching theme of…
You know what I'd like to play? A classic-style point-and-click adventure game set in the land of Oz. Preferably set sometime post-Emerald City of Oz, so Dorothy and her family have moved there permanently and the whole cast can join in on the fun. Let's say the Nome King is up to some villainous shenanigans, or an…
Wow, so this is a whole different kind of shitty than we all expected it to be? Or is it both kinds of shitty simultaneously? This being the AV Club, the default assumption must be that it can be two things.
That is not how probability works!
Okay, it's not like "Am I Blue?" comes on the radio all that often, but if it did I would immediately think of its definitive interpretation: Kevin Conroy, as Batman, singing to an audience of Zatanna, Circe, and assorted well-heeled Greeks on Justice League Unlimited. I somehow doubt the song was intended for a moody…
And the wall pulls away to reveal a wildly cheering studio audience.
We can be two things as well as boozy!
Striking!
That was outright jarring, but a very effective way to spell out "Hey buddy, nice cape and all but you ain't Superman."
I agree, I have serious Joker fatigue and I love it when the wackier villains come out to play. I'm good with Duke not being a full-fledged Robin, though, because there's too many of those running around already. But by all means let him kick some ass.
I'm going to skip it, based on poor reviews and just godawful ugly production design. Warner Bros. really needs to do a better job picking directors for their DC movies. I hate to play partisan, but Marvel at least has that down to a science.
Pretty good! Just got two proofreading projects back-to-back and had a surprise job interview on Wednesday for an application I had thought was a total long shot. I'm going to be super busy for a while, though, because my regular part-time gig is shorthanded and they need me to do more hours. So it's going to be…
