I saw it at midnight, so I went in unaware of the hatred, but I still ended up thinking it was good - definitely heavily flawed, but good nonetheless. I can't really argue with many of the criticisms, but I enjoyed Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace. It had gorgeous visuals, as you pointed out, and

That was my reaction to the movie as well. Fassy and McAvoy were great, particularly in any scenes they had together, but I kind of strongly dislike everything else about it. All of the kids, including Jennifer Lawrence, who I normally like a lot, were annoying and their roles felt both paper-thin and pointless.

I agree with Zack Handlen about Prometheus, and I saw it at midnight, before I really heard people's reactions to the film.

I read this article before the one for Zero Dark Thirty, so in my defense, I didn't know you were referencing something.

Heh. I realized that after I wrote it but got too lazy to change it.

I've heard that a lot too. I loved the movie, so it kind of bums me out that it's gotten what seems like a really poor reputation since winning Best Picture, but I also really can't say anything about its "authenticity" given that I have no military experience and don't know anyone well who is in the military. Unlike

They overhauled it after the event, not sure how exactly they were able to do that so quickly, but yeah, it was originally supposed to be completely fictional.

The Hurt Locker is still my favorite movie of its year, so very much looking forward to that one. The trailer was interesting, to say the least; it didn't really make me any more excited than I already am, but it didn't really need to.

Yeah, The Avengers was a blast and very well done, especially considering the mess it could've been had Marvel given it over to lesser hands. I'm not the biggest fan of the Marvel movies (Iron Man and Captain America were the only good ones, pre-Avengers, and all the others ranged from forgettable to downright
