In spite of? Hey, Jeremy Renner is awesome, even if he didn't do a whole lot in The Avengers and his new Bourne movie looks kind of terrible.

I found this (the real definition of "high-concept") out only recently. It explained so much.

Phew, so glad that Whedon's going to direct the Avengers sequel. Though I'm still highly skeptical about whether they're going to be able to pull the second one off, Whedon's presence is at least a slight comfort. Without him, there's pretty much no way I can imagine the movie working.

His Emmys was perfectly enjoyable, certainly one of the better ceremonies I've seen (which isn't saying much considering I usually find the Emmys utterly boring, but still). I don't know if he'd be as good for the Oscars, though.

I actually don't mind the Olympics announcers. They don't necessarily say anything insightful or particularly informative, but they can be entertaining enough and I kinda appreciate their enthusiasm. So sue me. Meredith Viera and Matt Lauer during the opening ceremony, on the other hand, were just awful.

I remember liking that one too, but I also don't dislike Kate like everyone else does.

Lion King will always be my personal favorite.

Maybe I'm just being sensitive, but I think "too soon" was at least a small part of the issue here. I mean, it's only been a week since it happened. The bigger issue, though, is that the joke is just plain awful and not funny. Also, The Dark Knight Rises wasn't a piece of crap - it was awesome. The entire premise is…

I loved that part too. So beautiful and heartbreaking in a really unexpected way.
