Yeah, but apparently now he only wants Earl's daughters. Tenant farmers' daughters are way beneath him now. He's an Earl's son-in-law now!

Looks like they're gearing up for a slap-slap-kiss situation.
Yeah, I guess it's realistic enough that people would continue to hang out with old friends even when those friends undergo a personality transplant. My question in the post above was mostly rhetorical. I'm just frustrated that interesting characters like Bernadette and Amy keep getting paired with Penny, who drains…
I get why Amy would still want to keep hanging around Penny - she still sees herself as the poor friendless gawky girl, and Penny as someone she aspires to be like (socially speaking, not her entire personality). Not to mention, she has a bit of a crush on Penny.
Or even the one who rushed to the hospital to support Howard when his mom was in the hospital. That Penny died sometime in season 5, and her evil twin took over.
Penny has been flanderized so much that I almost wish they'd just write her off the show or something (not gonna happen, I know). She's nasty, self-centred, drunk and utterly tiresome in her pretence of being above the 'childish' stuff the guys are into. I loved her in the earlier seasons, but now I mentally groan…
*Sigh* Yes, as I said, I know the real reason they dislike her. What I don't get is why even their face-saving official reasons make no sense whatsoever.
I guess that makes sort of sense (in a very sexist way) … but it's not like Helen chose to be a working mom - if she weren't divorced, she'd probably be at home taking care of her kids (or at least as much 'care' as Betty and Francine take of their own kids).
Yeah, I get that she thinks Helen is an attention-whore (or just plain whore) because she walks around the neighbourhood, but where does the 'selfish' part come in? Ditto about the job.
Francine's dislike of Helen is so weird - I mean I know the real, underlying reason for it, but even her stated reasons make no sense. She says Helen is 'selfish' because she goes on long walks and has a job at a jewellery store. What on earth is selfish about that?!
Yup - exactly my experience. Actually, that applies to a lot of Mad Men - a lot of the character moments make more sense in retrospect, when you've already gotten to know the characters.
Lawnmower vs. foot. No contest.
Previously, I couldn't understand why this episode got so much love - it made barely an impression on me on my first watch. All I could remember was Pete's chip and dip, and Roger throwing up. But on rewatch, I must say I really enjoyed it. It's not quite the best episode of the season - it has too little of Joan for…
It's a chip and dip!
Sharee is quickly becoming the season 3 equivalent of Zarra, who would have been the worst character ever on SaB if Chef Jeff and Jace weren't already tied for that dubious honour.
But an oral deaf person (like Daphne) would be able to speak to non-signing hearing parents just fine.
"when it comes to me"? ;)
I agree - Bay and Tank are adorable as friends, but would be a disaster as romantic partners. Besides, I think Bay's one great love is art, and it would be nice if she got to focus on that for a season (or half-season, or whatever) instead of on yet another guy.
IMO, the guy gave off really bad vibes. If I were Regina, I'd show him the door asap. But of course, Regina excels at bad decisions, so she'll probably be in business and bed with him by the end of the next episode.
