I think it's more about how the show is executing his plotline. Most book readers I know actually enjoy Jon Snow. It's the show that has done a very poor job with his character.

I don't get it at all. Jon's story line in all of the books kept my interest. I particularly enjoyed it in ASOS and ADWD. I get why people aren't fans of the show version, because the writers have struggled to build his arc.

Yup.

Who knows what they're doing at this point. I don't expect to see Stoneheart at all this year since they didn't even resolve the Wall battle in one episode. I feel like next week's episode will be rushed since so many story lines need to be resolved still.

Meh. I thought it was just as weak as I predicted. They just didn't focus on the Watch/Wildlings story enough to be invested in a full hour of it. I was actually getting bored, which is odd for me. I loved this whole story line in the books, but I think the show did a poor job executing it. And, the biggest problem is

It wouldn't be an issue if it didn't take him 5+ years to release a book. He works on so many other projects that it slows down the vehicle that brought him success.

But they're not. Arya in the books and the show witnesses Jaqen change his face.

I think the audience really needs something to cheer for. Seeing SH hang a bunch of Freys would certainly deliver on that.

So here's a general question about ASOIAF for book readers. If the majority of Westeros doesn't believe in magic, then what do they think of the Faceless Men? I think we can all agree that there has to be some magic involved with the Faceless Men, because each time a person puts on a new face, he or she experiences

That's exactly what I'm hoping for. The Wall is a central plotline in ADWD, so they need to build it up now. Also, we rarely get to see Ghost. Jon's such a cool character because Ghost is always either with him or in the vicinity. This year when Jon reunited with him, I was completely confused. Like how did he get to

I just don't think people will care. Also, they haven't checked in with Stannis enough. I think his arrival is going to really confuse people.

I agree with you. This has been consistently strong. In season 2 there was a lot of really boring stuff with Jon and especially Dany. Season 3 had a lot of stuff with Rob that was boring and I didn't care too much for the Theon stuff. This season has been the best so far without a doubt.

But it's not going to resonate like Blackwater. They've completely botched this story line. Most viewers that I know have no interest in the wall, whereas the Blackwater battle was built up so well that people were really excited to see it.

I don't think it'll have the same impact as Blackwater though. They've done a poor job adapting the Wall/Wildlings story-line.

Ah, I didn't think of the COTF. That would be an awesome reveal for the finale. About the wall though, you're right that it just hasn't had a strong impact on the story. I couldn't wait for that battle in the book. I feel like the viewer is going to be bored next week, which is a shame because the show-runners are

I've read some great posts about the predictions for the last two episodes. I think the penultimate will focus primarily on the battle at the wall. Too bad they've done a poor job with the night's watch story. I was much more excited in the books about that battle.

And she understands that even a master manipulated such as Littlefinger has desires that ultimately trump his ambition to take the throne.

Just wanted to add that you get a strong sense that Tywin has been waiting a long time to rid himself of Tyrion. He doesn't so much as sigh or even blink when the Mountain wins the battle. It's pretty sad when you consider the amount of malevolence a father can have towards his own son.

Yup. She's a dime that one.

Yup! At this point all she can do is laugh. Hey, there's your father on Baelor's sept - beheaded. Hey, your mom and brother are right through that door at a wedding - murdered. Hey, your aunt is right up in that tower - dead. HA!!!
