Here's the thing you need to accept about the Grammys: the awards, themselves, are largely bullshit — but over the past decade, the producers have realized this and spend very little time during the broadcast handing them out.

This was the first movie I saw in a theater post-9/11. It's still special to me for that reason; I needed something this silly.

Wasn't nominated; that was a ridiculously crowded year for film: The Insider, Three Kings, Malkovich, Magnolia, Election, the South Park film, Sixth Sense, Matrix, Fight Club …

That's not how I remember it.

This show has the same massive flaw as Studio 60: it chooses to tell, not show, just how brilliant it thinks everyone in its universe is.  Megan Hilty and Jennifer Hudson are that talented; the Brooklyn Boys' songs aren't, the writing isn't, etc.  Stop giving us these dewy-eyed looks of admiration which aren't…
