This one felt a lot like Dr. Who in terms of look, vibe, a sortof cheapness, and also DiMartino. There’s nothing wrong with Dr. Who, but it felt like it was aiming for Thor: Ragnarok, but only got partway there. And if someone is playing opposite Hiddleston they really need to pop (Owen Wilson has been fun) and so…
After seeing the mostly glowing reviews here for this season I figured I would give it a shot and catch up, but ooof this episode might be the end (again) for me.
I just finished a re-re-rewatch a few weeks ago, and this episode still wrecks me.
“The guy thought there was boat in the fog, but there’s no boat? What a ripoff. Worst movie ever. I’m turning this off.”
although a number of his other movies, including Baby Driver, could probably give it a run for its money.)
This Bronson Pinchot erasure cannot be allowed.
I don’t mind that Walker’s story was a little slight, just like Rambeau’s was in wandavision, because presumably we’ll see them again.
I think there were two deep problems with the flagsmashers story:
I’m so glad they had the restraint to do this as only 6 episodes, rather than the more typical 10ish. Peak-tv has fallen in love with wheel-spinning, and taking one idea and stretching it to fill the episode order. TFTWS definitely had some of that too, but at least it was still pretty quick.
I dunno, I might also have higher expectations of astronauts than I do pilots?
Hanks’ character weakens the whole movie for me.
Bravo.
Saloni, I would just like to say thanks for this.
...giving up Warren Ellis though? That’s a significant part of my late teens and early 20's.
Man from Uncle is much more fun that it should be, in part because of Cavill.
Sorry, but Bogus Journey is to Excellent Adventure as Temple of Doom is to Raiders.
I came here for the exact same reason.
F9: we haven’t reached Moonraker-level zaniness, yet
So many words, and yet it misses the point: Wanda & Vision from the movies are barely characters. Olsen and Bettany are movie stars, but the characters are not stars.
