No defenestration, though.

I do wonder what all the creators think of this season.

That was great! The show should be more like that.

There’s such a difference between:

We’ve just spent 8 episodes on a borg ship, so they already have the physical and digital sets, and plenty of costumes.

In the comments last week CaptainJanewaysCoffee mentioned that Rios might be a synth, which is why we got the memorybox scene rather than a more effective flashback.

For Vic, we don’t know if tech-wise he was just Moriarty but with his switch set to “Good” instead of “Evil.”

In the season 1 finale of Discovery (also directed by Goldsman) there’s a scene where everyone is getting medals. But it’s intercut with an inspirational speech by Burnham, and the blocking is super weird so you can’t tell who is facing whom, and the camera is spinning, and it’s really unclear if it’s supposed to be a

The more I think about it, the more I’m with Zack.

I think it works as long as you don’t call attention to it...which this show does.

The sad thing is that the Raffi stuff was much more believable than the Rios/Jurati stuff, Soji/Narek stuff, or the Picard/Elnor stuff.

Zack called it a "quick visit" but that really doesn't do justice to how random and slapped together it is.

The trip to the Borg ship in this episode was very weirdly edited.

I think Zack was a little harsh on this one, even if I also think the show is pretty bad. Although this episode really, really tried for some emotional moments that just don’t work because we don’t know the characters.

Yup, you’re right he’s on the beach too.

There need to be some rules for any of this to have any weight, but instead it’s all just magic.

With the trailers for this season there was some speculation that we weren’t see the actual future, but were instead seeing Futureworld. And Nolan and Joy must know that people would wonder about that.

...but the gut punch I felt when Caleb “unsubscribes” from calls with his old friend and war buddy, Francis (Kid Cudi), resonated, mostly for the way Cudi’s voice instantly turned cold when asking Caleb to “confirm.”

Cool.

I think this article is waaaaaaay too early to praise Westworld for not falling into traps, when it still has plenty of time to fall into them. The ending of Nolan’s Person of Interest was pretty good and pretty satisfying, but it still was much more simplified than the ambiguity hinted at in the earlier seasons.
