How does Sarah Sherman’s amazing turn on Update not even get a mention? That was as funny as SNL has been in a long time. She’s 100% unhinged and I love every second of it.

That Hello Kitty sketch was terrible. Jfc.

Please, edgelord, enlighten us to this so-called bias. Are you saying it is because of...THE JEWS!?!?

Yeah, that’s exactly what sketch comedy is.

No, it just would have had Dennis (God rest his soul) reminding us that he wouldn’t use the brand name and otherwise kvetching a bit.

Kenan threw on a wig and looked pretty much exactly like teenage Kenan. That man doesn’t age.

No your weird conspiracy theory comments are funnier

“The sketches, overall, seemed to be single idea stretched out.”

The ultrasound sketch and her turn on Weekend Update really show Sarah Sherman’s emergence (I’m in love), and the overall turn towards absurdism is very welcome. Weekend Update also had some actually great jokes today.  The choir one kind of sucked but overall it was a good episode that really gave most of the cast

Now playing

This was the first SNL episode I’ve watched the night-of in a while and it was a fun one. Caught it because of Keke Palmer’s charisma in Nope and because I’m a SZA fan and was not disappointed.

dark and more importantly to me, not that funny. They struck me as being more like good dramas with occasionally funny bits thrown in. Nowhere close to the genius comedy of the first few seasons.

Dreamland was dark as fuck. At least for Archer.

I *tried* to like the Dreamland episodes, I really did, but when it came to Archer I hated the idea of lowering my expectations for such a brilliant show especially when Adam Reed was still running things, and the Dreamland episodes seemed like he got bored and wanted to amuse himself more than the viewers, and maybe

as a longtime passionate lover of Archer (seasons 1-6 only) I have wondered practically every year since then why and how it remains alive despite such an obvious drop-off in brilliance (I assume the Dreamland seasons were contractually obligated, so this question applies mainly to the seasons since then), and I have

Numbers, maybe? Each season is so brief that it is like we have only gotten 6.5 seasons of some other shows. I liked the coma seasons, because I liked the genres that they were riffing on. Even lesser writing efforts on Archer are better than the best efforts of many/most other shows. All this said, I no longer

Well, not with that attitude!

It really is the ensemble of characters (with their excellent voice actors) who keep Archer going. Whatever its other flaws, the show has always had that at the heart of many of its best episodes - hell, one of their best episodes literally involved shutting them all together in an elevator for a 22-minute run-time.

This show overstayed its welcome probably before it got to the “coma seasons”... but I can’t help but still love it. The past few years, post-coma, have been them righting the ship, and I’d hate to just see it end.

That said, I would like there to be a definitive end.

WE CAN’T EVER GO BACK TO FRISKY DINGO!

just... have... the last season... crossover... with... FRISKY DINGO
