This was a fun episode, though I do think some of the criticism of it being too long and overstuffed was justified. Specifically, the Ru Paul performance of the new RuPaul song was a bit much. It was strange to watch RuPaul perform it and then watch the cast perform the same song.

I do wonder about the judges’

It was clear to me how much RuPaul was enamored of Willow from very early on in the season and then once Kornbread left the competition and Angeria started to kind of flatline I thought Willow was the likely winner. I wouldn’t say I thought it was a certainty from the very beginning but it was basically a certainty to

I agree. The season was too long and had too many non-elimination episodes but I still thought it was one of the better seasons with one of the better groups of queens in a few years

I know! I wonder who sang the songs because it sure as hell wasn’t the queens

I liked the song choice (though I wish they’d used the original ABBA version) but I agree that both lip syncs were lackluster

This season has seemed to last forever which I mostly chalked up to all the non-elimination episodes. Doing a top 5 finale for no real reason seems like a final “fuck you” from RuPaul to the viewers. That said RuPaul didn’t really seem any more disengaged than usual to me

I agree. I thought this was the strongest Ru Paul single in a long time

She’s super likable but I agree with you if you look at her actual talent/performance level it’s surprisingly weak (Angeria)

No it changed much more quickly and recently than that, after they fired staffers who weren’t willing to relocate from Chicago to LA and all of their best freelancers quit freelancing for the site in solidarity

No one is ever going home. This season will never end. They’ll just keep making new episodes with these seven queens forever

I thought about that too. What I came up with was that it was a cis het male character so they thought it would be inappropriate for a drag queen to do it?

I hope you’re misunderstanding my point. The point is that they used to be more review than recap when Dennis Perkins wrote them but are tipping into almost pure recap under this new freelancer

I liked the Please Don’t Destroy pretape but I seem to be in the minority. I thought it just had a crazy energy and got really interesting when Paul Dano was added to the mix and I never tire of jokes about how much they suck

I know. It’s literally just a recap not a review. He’s probably a freelancer getting paid like 6 bucks for the whole post anyway

Oh the promo photo. Yeah SNL has the hosts do all these weird promo photos doing all types of weird shit. I wouldn’t make too much of it

I’m pretty anti-smoking and I don’t even know what the fuck you’re talking about

Kyle Mooney is probably my favorite performer on the show now (other than Cecily maybe). His take on Dan Blilzarian was hilarious

I agree. Honestly the one thing that’s kind of interesting about that now recurring sketch is Kate and Aidy playing the parts. If it was two of the guys playing the parts it would have basically nothing interesting going for it

Also the other Paltrow thing of referring to Billy Joel as her musician friend William Joel

Having yet another episode in which nobody went home and having possibly the least funny Snatch Game in the history of RPDR kind of overwhelmed whatever charms this episode may have had and I admit it had some but my overall reaction to this episode was extremely negative
