I was virtually certain Symone would be the winner though I personally would have preferred Gottmik. I knew there was virtually no chance Rose or Kandy would win. The unfortunate thing was the structure of the lip syncs meant we had to see Kandy twice.

Whatever was happening behind the scenes I’m talking about what it felt like as a viewer

Meh

This wasn’t a reunion which I didn’t mind because I usually don’t like the reality competition show reunion show format. Usually they’re just an excuse for all this contrived drama. Having said that I don’t know if this ...whatever this was ...was the answer either.

Yeah as a non comics reader I definitely remember it seeming weird that they went for 20 or whatever movies without having a female protagonist/superhero. And then on top of that when it came out it ended up being kind of a throwaway in my opinion. I liked the “Captain Marvel” movie mostly because I’m a huge Brie

I think the big problem is that they really haven’t made it clear what Karli/the Flag Smasher’s philosophy and ultimate goals are or at least they’re not as coherent as other MCU “villains who have a point” like Killmonger or Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming. On the one hand they claim to be for open borders

I’m 48 years old and I don’t agree with this interpretation at all

idk sometimes I get tonal whiplash from it though. Like the show is delving into these heavy subjects like trauma from war or America’s history of racism and then the minute there’s this light bro-y banter between Sam and Bucky

I had mixed feelings about this ep. I really liked the pre-credits action sequences like you did. And I thought the stuff with Isaiah was great. But a lot of the rest of it was just weird and tonally all over the place for me. At times it seemed like a bad buddy cop movie or something (and even had a training montage

The Sam and Bucky fixing the boat plot reminded me of the X-Men movies more than the MCU, and I mean that as a positive. I’ve had this take for awhile that the X-Men movies, for all their flaws, has characters that are more down to earth and human and dealing more with recognizable human problems (even if they are

I agree that the L’Eggs sketch was the best of the night, which is weird considering it was technically the “10 to 1" weird sketch. I liked how it pivoted from the “teen rap group” which I thought was going to be the focus, to the panty hose.

It’s literally just the dude’s name

This “white face” complaint is one of most impressive galaxy brain stretches I’ve ever seen on AV Club. Just peak brain worms as they’d say on twitter

Right but they never really made it make any sense that she was willing to just sit there and listen to the whole conversation about her. Why didn’t she just take matters into her own hands?

Nah I think it’s just rich middle aged comedy writers who hate the young people trying to break into their industry and then just transpose that work situation to other scenarios

So the sketch was rich grow ups making of children then. Hilarious!

I liked the letter writing sketch and wasn’t aware it was a recurring. I was going to compliment the quick escalation of it

Yeah this was a really great episode. I honestly think it was one of the best Marvel things I’ve ever seen in any format. Just great storytelling and character development and acting with John Walker. They did such a great job showing that he wanted to take the serum, why he wanted to do so, and then showing how his

That’s Wyatt Russell for ya
