I read something once that described him having a “wry croak of a voice” and I thought that was just perect

That’s character actor Jim Beaver. This guy isn’t him but they look enough alike that I thought the same thing

She works mostly from home because she was in a really bad car accident and has a badly broken arm. The theory is that this arrangement will allow her to convalesce more easily. That’s my take on it anyway

I don’t know why she suddenly needed to go to the courthouse. It’s meant to be mysterious. She asked for the federal banking regs because she’ll need to know them in order to help Mesa Verde expand to all these different states.

I thought the guy who broke into copy machine store office was Jim Beaver at first!

I wouldn’t go quite as far as you did re: Gus but I get what you’re saying. Gus had such mystique on Breaking Bad it was almost like he was an evil God or something. This show by its nature demystifies that because it’s an origin story so it shows a less powerful less imposing Gus

A lot of different interpretations of the end of the previous episode to this one and of the Kim/Howard scene in this one, many of them really interesting. What I took out of the scene where Howard revealed the suicide and the conflict over the insurance to Jimmy was that the main point of it for the audience was

Restraining orders aren’t quick. They’re basically impossible to get until you’ve already been murdered

So are there any comedians who are funny anymore or do pretty much all of them just do long depressing monologues about their personal traumas?

Legion

I hope he did. He’s easily the worst long term TV recapper on this site. He’s one of those who has this very specific idea in his head of what a show should be and then just complains when it doesn’t meet it exactly, and he was obviously tired of the Venture Bros and had nothing new to say about it.

I agree. Elektra’s cruelty is what turned them in to cartoon villains to begin with. It seems like we’re just supposed to forget that

As I always say when people bring up being the mother on HIMYM is probably Cristian Miloti’s most well-known role but it’s far from her best. She had a hilarious guest-starring role on 30 Rock that kind of got her career going and she was also the lead in the “USS Callister” episode of Black Mirror. She’s a really

Basically all the previous names i.e. “Dr. Mrs. etc. . . .” were all noms de guerre and only referenced her in relationship to the Monarch. This was fine when the character wasn’t as developed but now that she’s at the forefront it makes more sense to call her by her “real” name. I guess “deserve” is sort of weird

Maybe because that’s how and where she met Stan originally?

In case anyone misunderstands, this is a joke. I”ve never seen it either but it’s a cop thing right?

She’s just a great actress. She had a hilarious role in 30 Rock and she was the lead in that brilliant Black Mirror episode that referenced a Star Trek-like TV series (which Zach Handlen didn’t like because he’s insane). She’s also a great singer and has done a lot of good music with Run the Jewels and BOOTS

Margolis also spoke Spanish in a flashback scene in Breaking Bad and it was terrible. I saw an interview where he pretty much admitted  his Spanish accent was terrible and that those scenes are very difficult for him.

I was surprised. I thought this would make JImmy go even deeper into a spiral of guilt as opposed to allowing him to feel free because he can blame Howard.

It was amazing just watching Jimmy not speak for so long. You’re probably right that Odenkirk’s probably never played anything like that before
