it's melancholy and VERY sad. Not at all uplifting and cliche like the trailer.

Without ruining it for you the tragedy his character goes thru will more than make you sympathetic.Just because he is a white man doesn't mean terrible shit can't happen to him

I saw it last night and the cliche is anything but true. He's a man who has basically gone thru the worst tragedy anyone could possibly think of. Without ruining it for you, it is amazingly sad .

I just saw it last night (it is amazing and you will cry a lot) and I think you should avoid spoilers. I went into it not knowing any of the back story outside of what you see in the trailer and was incredibly affected by this movie. It's really good.
