I like the idea that the Diamonds are fusions (and thus massive hypocrites), and Pink Diamond was the fusion between Rose and the Bismuth we saw bubbled in Lion's mane back in Lion 3.

This damn well better not stick. Steven's guileless faith in everyone is one of this show's best aspects, and I don't want to see him lose it.

They've responded, in a contradictory and bullshit fashion. http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2…
Christ, they can barely be bothered to bring the series over at all, and when they do they censor it. Way to fucking go, CN.

Haven't seen anything past the titles, but the Peridemption better stay on the tracks, damnit. I couldn't handle a betrayal.

Stands to reason. Square Mom is, was and always will be Best Mom.

If that is the case, it's a damned sight better at it than Political Power or Rising Seas/ Crashing Skies were.

That's some damned good fanbase synergy, right there.

Judging by the episode titles for the rest of the week, I'd imagine they're saving Peridot for a bigger role later. I can't help but feel she'd have got in the way today- she doesn't have enough history with most of the characters to justify the space.

Early SU had a habit of feinting right into full-blown horror in a way that it doesn't do as much any more (give or take a gem mutant or two.) It's probably a more consistent show now, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the odd Cat Fingers or Frybo episode.

Baby Steven is hella cute.

Just looked it up.

I'm generally sympathetic towards criticisms about mansplaining, but… is that not rather what the entire point of Sherlock Holmes is? The character, by his very nature, runs on mansplaining.

Gayness and lore. Some of my favourite SU things. :)

In any other murder plot line, the existence of a hitherto unknown assailant stepping from the shadows and admitting the crime would seem like an outrageous cop out. In the case of the Green plot line, it's a blessed relief.

This is a totally personal thing, of course, but for my money the show only became properly good when they abandoned the arbitrary weekly action sequences, and went for more character focus.
The original concept of the team having to deal with corrupted Gems went almost entirely out of the window after Lapis showed up,

I never, ever saw Peridot as sinister. If they did something like this with Jasper, you might have a point, but Peridot mainly served to show off the Homeworld threat without actually being one herself.

Eh, Pearl and Garnet's fight kind of overshadowed everything else in that Stevenbomb. It's tolerable over the course of a week, but I could definitely see it getting frustrating or grating over the course of a month.

I'm hopeful that this new arrangement isn't going to be a limited-time mini-arc, but something a little longer running and slow-burning.
I think it's good for the health of the show that it can emerge from the Stevenbombs and back into a weekly schedule. Since the first Stevenbomb, that had kind of become the show's

I'm assuming that Peridot's the one who's afraid of thunderstorms next week. I sense bonding!
Also, we're getting the Gems building robots in the barn a few weeks down the line. That never really made sense before, but if Peridot's a part of the setup by that point…

Peridette is the cutest of all gems.
