Moffat's nearly right there, but if we're adding Big Finish in to this, then the honour of best title has to go to Horror of Glam Rock. It's EXACTLY what you'd expect it to be.

What do you mean it undermines itself in the last act? The ending of Elton breaking Jackie's heart, realising the self-defeating nature of what he was doing and walking away from the poisonous group was a perfect way of representing the themes that RTD was putting across.

While I agree by and large, this does remind me that The Name of the Doctor is a terrifically clever title when divorced of its publicity-bait connotations.

I look forward to my forthcoming full-throated defence of LAM.

The clear, clear highlight of series 2. The contemplative tone of the scenes with the Doctor hanging above the Pit collectively represent the best work that Tennant ever did on the show.

Scandal so low? Game so high? Madness.

We see that Lindsey Duncan's husband committed suicide on the front of one of the papers. I don't really think we need to see a whole lot more than that to get it.

Personally speaking… Elementary is hamburger, and Sherlock is high-quality steak. Yeah, I'd much rather eat steak, but it's an infrequent treat, whereas I can feel up for a hamburger any time.

Quite apart from anything else, Magnussen had pushed Lindsay Duncan's husband into suicide, and it's heavily implied that he's done this many, many times before.

Let's keep an eye out for the first baby called Cersei. Then watch that baby VERY closely.

I think the point is that literally anything would have been better than the Slitheen. Zygons, Rutans, Silurians wearing rubber masks, ANYTHING.

Oh, God, no. The Valeyard is a terrible, terrible concept, and I never want to see it on screens again. Eighties Who at its absolute worst.

Still the best use of any catchphrase in anything, ever.

That's easy, though. Hurt doesn't deserve the title of Doctor, so Tennant and Smith can carry on being the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors while still incorporating Hurt.
Stick "The Non-Doctor" or "The Renegade" or whateverthefuck on the merchandise and forget about it.

I'm personally more in favour of the Eighth Doctor having regenerated into the Hurt Doctor, and the Hurt Doctor later regenerating into what we understood was the Ninth Doctor but actually wasn't. I've always thought shoe-horning the Eighth Doctor into the Time War did that incarnation a disservice, particularly…

Terror of the Zygons, average? Pah. That first episode is the most perfect slice of archetypal Doctor Who you could possibly imagine.
It's taken the Zygons too damned long to come back. They should have been used instead of the Slitheen!

It's not fucking Top Trumps. We don't have to ration sympathy.

Brainy specs!

Pleasance almost single-handedly pushes this one into greatness. By God, he's good.

The sheer timing of The Work Outing is what really impresses me. It's literally perfect; the way that the beats of the situation spiraling out of control go off, particularly from the bits in the toilet on, is an absolute masterclass.
