Don't forget "Orange County". My personal favourite Jack Black performance. Seriously. He was also my favourite human in "The Muppets".

It's not just that he doesn't like Batman. In the episode about him called "A Bullet for Bullock", it's established that he's a bit of black sheep in the police department. Apparently he's not very popular and has an unflattering file because he "steps on a lot of toes" (i.e. doesn't do things 'by the book'). As a

The first time I ever heard of her was when the first Scooby Doo movie came out and everybody was like, "Can you BELIEVE how hot Velma is?" She wasn't exactly drawn to be the babe of the group in the cartoon.

You praised X2. I like you. That movie doesn't get nearly as much love as it deserves.

I concur! Luthor is often a comic relief presence in "Superman II" (i.e. trying and failing to get Zod to take him seriously), but he's less silly than in the first one. I love "Superman II" so much…Zod and Ursa are such consistently entertaining smug villains. I found the Superman/Lois relationship much improved from

I wholeheartedly endorse your opinion about X2. The backlash against it over the past few years annoys me.

And when Dirk and Reed are yelling at the recording studio guy, he looks like a little kid horrified that his parents are fighting. Poor fella.

I thought it was inspired by "Putney Swope".

I was just watching "The Big Lebowski" again. He's hardly in it, but so good. All his body language and enunciation as that character is fun. I like how he reverently bows as he opens the doors, as if he's so honoured to be in The Big Lebowski's presence.

There are a lot of fun shots of people watching Diggler work. I love how Ebert describes Jack Horner as looking like he's regarding livestock.

Good point. The deflation of a villainous person cackling like a diabolical madman is one of the jokes classic Simpsons does best.

This is one of my favourite episodes.

Oh, but Moe, the dank. The dank!

And she looks even better in "Battlestar Galactica"! She aged really, really well. I was disappointed by these episodes…not the best use of her post-Xena. I don't much care for this season, but at least it has "Improbable", which is one of my favourite episodes of the series.

Even if those other deaths weren't technically "glorious", I still thought they were very organic, respectable, and satisfying. I can't bring myself to watch the Jadzia one (she's my favourite character), but the way it was handled sounds infuriating to me…like another Tasha Yar deal.

I agree, although I did enjoy watching him hit on (and get rejected by) Kai Winn later. I would have gladly sacrificed that to have him not be in the series finale. "Waltz" was his last hurrah as a great character and would have been the perfect swan song for him. I thought his presence ruined the series finale. I'd

Regarding Tasha Yar, I'd like to add one more positive effect her departure had on the show. Some of her episodes that were terrible actually added gravitas to later episodes. For example, the business with she and Data having sex was embarrassingly campy, yet it ended up adding some poignancy to the episode where

Thanks for the response! I'm glad someone read what I wrote…I thought I had posted too late for anyone to see it. I think you make some good points that I hadn't considered with your explanation about the external force and the way you identified the tourist activities as a (feeble) attempt at distraction.

I understand that reasoning. It's similar to why I feel like specifying that I have a favourite 'gimmick' episode ("Trials and Tribble-Ations") AND a favourite 'normal' episode ("To the Death").

Well, I appreciate what this episode was trying to do with its message, but I wasn't happy with the execution. I could enjoy it on a superficial level for the make-up, production design, costumes, and novelty of things like Michael Dorn being a Sidney Poitier-type, Terry Farrell being a ditzy bimbo secretary, and
