@avclub-f62296b9393b6ab9229ebde91ed8469f:disqus I'm sure I saw a copy of The Edge here in the States around '91 and while I liked it, it covered too many games that I knew I would never see here.  As for the ads, EGM wasn't too bad at first (until they went GamePro-style…I can't believe I still have this much hate for

I had enough bourbon in me where I should have at least had a couple good laughs but it only made me look up how much money was wasted on a decent premise and decently funny people.  Guess you can't win 'em all.

It's called an upsell, he didn't know the situation that had already occurred between them, and while I don't recall if he asked more than twice, I'm fairly certain you wouldn't be asking for woodchips made of a car salesman if he tried to get you to sign before you walked out the door to "think it over".

Casey McCall:  douche.

It wasn't until I re-watched the series earlier this year and heard that line that I realized I'd been doing the same thing for the last decade.  Hell, I've had to mutter it under my breath to myself a few times just so I would chill the fuck out.  It's not an original thought but the way it was phrased made it stick

Agreed.  Especially when looking back at the first few episodes, where it seemed like it was going to be another "crisis of the week" with just a hint of character development.  It does help that Sorkin does seem to pack all the necessary information (and then some) into just a few sentences with Sports Night.  I'm

I'm surprised this wasn't more of a "Failiasco" than a Failure, simply because it seems to combine the absolute worst aspects of both words pretty damn well.  I'd also like to nominate "Year One" as a candidate for MWOF, as that was also unwatchable and seemed to have a few good things going for it…at least before

I haven't looked it up but I can only hope this is the one with the on screen fight and/or chair throwing and other shenanigans.  It may have been one of the few episodes I ever saw of his show.

No offense to either McDonald or Zane (well, maybe the latter) but I'd take the Bruce's career over both of them.  Although I am still holding out hope for seeing a sequel to Bubba Ho-tep…

Hey now, Electronic Gaming Monthly was pretty damn good until they decided to start copying GamePro (which always sucked).  I kept my subscription to EGM going for an extra two years after I lost all interest in video games in the mid-90s just because it was still full of good reviews and updates on the next best
