I'm surprised no one mentioned the Jeremy Brett Sherlock. I grew up on that and that they managed to update it and seem present day is good on them. The incorporation of present day idiocies yet not making them part of a serious plot point is good.

I'm mildly excited about the new season of Sherlock. First was decent, and got me to watch PBS again. Here's hoping that the Beeb didn't screw it up the second go around.
I saw the second Matrix and was told ahead to stay just because "they threw something extra in there." I'm of the same mind. Bonus is that you don't deal with everyone else leaving at the same time.
War of the Roses was my first introduction into how bad marriages can get. The finale with her and Douglas is still great over 20 years later.
I'm sure it's already been said, but kinda disappointed that there was nothing about War of the Roses here. But regardless, this was a great interview and props to Rabin for a great read.
No, he's the new Joe Pantoliano..
i am appreciative of the replies but good god can anyone just throw some common sense into this? HOT does not equal ACTING ABILITY. Just cause I like her boobs and persona in a sitcom does not equal acting in any way shape or form.
Chili is always better when you save a bit from the previous batch and mix it in with the new.
She's hot, but can she act outside of a one note character?
Shop Smart. Shop S-Mart.
I was going to say that unless they resurrect Johnny Weissmuller they shouldn't bother, but you beat me to it.
I don't usually notice things like this but apparently the budget went into special effects and not face plaster for the leads? Vince Vaughn looks as old as my 70 year old dad.
I think what it comes down to is what someone previously posted is that "the sky is falling" approach just makes people tune this kind of film out, and that a sensible, reasonable approach to conservation and use of resources is what would make people actually listen up.
I thought I imagined that, but yeah, giraffe? Where did that come from?
Yeah, I was disappointed by the lack of fart jokes as well.
Does anybody even know what regionals are?
@avclub-c0346985d8c2d12fd123ef7d6829dcf7:disqus "All drinking water is recycled sewer water, at some remove." The area in Southern MD where I've been living (temporarily) for the past couple months has most older homes and housing developments feed off the local aquifer rather than be hooked into any kind of local…
At the second restaurant I worked in we had a bus boy whose name really was Benjamin Dover. My kitchen staff was merciless with his name.
Gave the same grade. I was fully expecting to not like this one bit, especially since I gave up on sitcoms around the time Seinfeld ended. And watching a series straight from the pilot, haven't done that since Lost. This series is kinda giving me hope that maybe the sitcom isn't dead -quite- yet.
I seem to recall seeing a "1991" date in a corner of the windshield, but I also didn't have my glasses while watching this.
