Owen
Is CTU hiring high school students now? I mean what, is this guy on an internship for his Domestic Special Forces in America class?

Barb is falling apart under the crushing weight of her staggering incompetence.

Bill is just too ruthless, that's his advantage.

I've heard
That in the finale, Bill has to put Barb down, like a lame horse. Everyone cheers.

Yeah SoA is basically the last show in the world that anyone should be imitating in any way.

Seems more like Cole as the non-retard should have realized that leaving them alive was not an option, particularly when that involved strolling away from them with his back turned. He also just killed two guys like an hour before.

He wouldn't be a murderer in any but the most technical definition. If you blackmail someone, you are inviting them to kill you, and you really have no right to complain if they do.

People are addicted to anticlimax
The end of this episode, and of Big Love last night convince me of this. Why did we have to have one of the scumbags kill his partner and then be killed by Cole in self defense?

Big Problem
With this show is that it consistently relies on coincidence to resolve everything.

You know
Before watching Barb, I was inclined to doubt Borat's claim that a woman's brain is the size of a squirrel's.

I don't understand why my comment would be a target for seemingly conservative trolling.

Uhh
Am I the only one who thinks erasing 5 seasons of character development isn't a great idea?

Origin Stories
Kring: "It's the most fun to write, and ultimately it's the most interesting for the audience. Once you answered the big questions—"What is happening to me? How am I connected? What does it all mean?"—as we did, then those questions have to be replaced by other questions. And those are usually plot

Surprisingly good review
Agree with most of it except part about Chloe being "one of the few characters on the series who is actually odd enough to be a real person" which is just nonsense.

(Mis)Interpretation
I don't understand what Bill hopes to accomplish by running for congress, because it seems like revealing his polygamy after being elected would only lead to everyone turning against him, but other than that this review seems way off.

To clarify, here is Handlen's procedure for reviewing a show:

Zach
Really has no business reviewing this show.

Yeah
Aside from the fact that Handlen is not the right person to be covering 24 (or anything for that matter, given his inability to find a median between writing paeans to Sons of Anarchy and whining about anything that's not aggressively progressive enough for him) he is largely accurate here.

Fox
It's really time to give the Fox=bad jive a rest. Yeah, they screwed up with Firefly and everyone knows it (them included). That's why they gave T:SCC and Dollhouse way more time than either warranted.

Missing the point
This show is like True Blood in that it's really just violent pornography, but unlike True Blood, it's willing to admit this. So, it's basically what True Blood would be if True Blood didn't suck.
