Parnell and Will Forte are two of the biggest guys for this — they show up everywhere. However, it isn't ever as annoying with them, at least in my view, I guess because they're not A-listers the way others along these lines are. Thinking of them as comedy character actors is a great way of putting it.

Guess it will really depend on the skill of their performance, although I imagine it will be clear that the person is someone notable, since these films/shows typically stall to let the person do their thing, screwing up the rhythm otherwise.

Exactly, and you're right that these actors are typically called upon to do the same basic routine over and over again. (i.e. a loud zany character). There's something incestual about it. Whereas I prefer, to quote an AVC classic, NO INCEST

Does that only include animals? I'd have to assume that mosquitoes are in first place with that malaria bullshit they're always peddling.

If it makes you feel better, I think it looks terrible. I would be pretty open to a non-gimmicky adventure movie set in the jungle, though.

Probably for the reason mentioned in the trailer, where she asks why she's the only one showing so much skin despite being in the jungle.

This strikes me as a great premise, but perhaps it would work better in a TV show format? I forget the name, but that faux-Kardashian show set in the Gilded Age or whatever seems like an appropriate template.
This sort of thing reminds me of What We Do In The Shadows, which I also thought might've been better as an

Oh man, you just touched on a huge movie pet peeve of mine, what I pretentiously call "the presumption of humor in comedic performances." Especially since comedy casting has gotten so chummy that laughter feels more like "I recognize this person" than "this person is doing something funny." Armisen, Patton Oswalt,

I assume R-rated superhero movies, following the success of Deadpool and Logan, is the new gritty origin story or split-in-two finale. Hopefully there's a purpose behind such bandwagon jumping on, and it isn't just about showing boobs and blood.

Well the Minions preview prominently featured one undressing to reveal a thong, while the preview for this features one pulling down its pants to receive a lower back tattoo, revealing its ass. So I assume that these are meant for adults.

Hell, I think this looks pretty good, and I'm thrilled that someone is making an original live-action musical — especially one that seems built for cinema, rather than a director awkwardly shoe-horning stage choreography in front of a camera, rather than building the telling specifically around editing and camerawork.

DDL has an amazing track record (both the films he's in and his performances, obviously), so this clearly works for him. But it's amusing to hear about method actors who care so much about such PR-friendly tactics, but then don't seem to have dedicated anywhere near that amount of energy towards evaluating whether the

I don't know how to define the difference, but there definitely is a gap between someone learning a skill/an accent for a role - which is what I'd say Day-Lewis does - and someone like Jared Leto, who sent used condoms to his Suicide Squad costars to "get into character." That's just being a dick.

I heard that it would be done 18 years later (so 2021?), and that it would be done in intentionally bad dubbing. I'm not sure where I heard or read that last part, but it would seem to be a bold gambit, to say the least.

I like most of the people involved with this, but I hate Very Bad Things, and the idea of seeing that basic premise again isn't exactly appealing.

I think the latter, coupled with how he doesn't have a ton of ambition. Hell, I'd be willing to get paid millions to hang out with my friends doing little work in glamorous locations around the world. I'm not sure that, if given the choice, I would instead choose to do hard work for less money in a more challenging

why the fuck would anyone want to be filmed naked on a skateboard with a gun sticking out of their butt?

Apparently he takes credit for being the first A-lister to 'slum' in indie and more challenging roles, which seems vaguely correct. (At least, the big stars of the 70's were making what are today indie roles, but at A-film budgets) He did Pulp Fiction when he was big, and others like that. His career has a lot to be

8mm is quite good, I'd say. Like you said, very difficult to sit through, but pretty thoughtful and honest about its subject.
