Addictive isn't it!  It's been 24 hours, so, you're like, halfway through 5 now, right?

OWNAGE!

I love your "Big Good" !  Some of my favorite antagonists are Big Goods - people who are either astute of the situation, exceptionally at their job, or simply CORRECT about what our characters are up to!

These are great observations, about things following a climax, especially the Wire.  I won't ruin anything, but in my opinion, no show has ever built off climaxes (and seemingly inconsequential events) like the Shield. I think they earned their climax, and the many episodes that followed were all the more greater for

I'm reserving judgement on Breaking Bad until it ends, but I think it has certainly been on a steady ramp upwards.  I think where I begin to deviate between BB and Shield is that while I love the heck out of both, The Shield absolutely killed me emotionally those last 3 seasons, where BB is (merely) blowing me away

Love the love for Sopranos S5.  Agreed! The arc with Christopher especially, let alone many other giant moments.

SPOILERS! :
I LOVE THAT FADE.  It practically starts fading well before that, and Shane is the last face in the dark, a chiaroscuro of brutal guilt

Seconded that 5 is the greatest, until 6…until 7…

I would definitely be down for this.  Nowalk is doing a bang up job, and Wallflower and all the other commenters are making this immensely enjoyable.  I feel this is the very first time I've been able to discuss this with equally enthused fans AND enjoy vicariously those who are going through the show for the first

yeah. THAT one just felt like they needed SOMETHING to do with the character that year, and an even dumber story arc the next year.

@UWIR:disqus so true.  Definitely a moment where I was more than happy to turn a blind eye at the "law" and sing praises that Mackey was doing the "right" thing

I feel I was able to stop rolling my eyes by season 3.  Even some groan inducing dialog felt like they were coming from real places in real people, not a juvenile writing room.

Truly this show is the Pringles/crack of Television.  Painful to watch it as it aired back in the day (waiting on pins and needles between Tuesdays).

On "Big Bads" : that's what I love about the last act.  Season 6 I was led to believe it was Shane, and by 7 I see it was always Vic.

I think Skylar is on the bottom rung for me personally, because I personally feel, just as Walt used cancer as a thin excuse to unlock the person he truly is, Skylar didn't need much to bail out on and betray her husband.  I'm not saying Walt didn't lie and put her through the ringer, but I didn't think her actions

@avclub-41e23e24ee2670c4128cd7e5e5ee42ab:disqus , one reason why I leaned towards Team Mara (it may have taken about 6 seasons), is because of a great quote from Season 4 I will now butcher:
"We're not getting out of this by getting dirtier. We're going to come clean"

It's bananas how much occurs in 2 episodes!  My memory of this season is pretty good, but if my life depended on it, I would have thought the famous stove-top scene surely would've occurred in episode 4 or 8

I actually think he's a good inclusion on the subject of "where music can go in the future."  A lot of genre combining/defying in the last decade, but he's such a fascinating example of re-imagining samples into something wholly new, not to mention the blurring of both mediums and media.

that name always bugged me, but I just sort of hope I was the one misunderstanding something.

cool interview.  He certainly does test the copyright/creative-commons issue
