Clouds Taste Metallic is awesome. Evil Will Prevail is the saddest, truest song ever recorded. I want it played at my funeral.

First record: probably a set of 7" records that came with read-along storybooks for the Gremlins movie, which was pretty cool because I wasn't allowed to see the movie.
First cassette: Europe, The Final Countdown.
First CD: Automatic for the People (which I still have).

Minority Report was surprisingly good, despite a weak third act. I originally saw it as a double feature with Attack of the Clones, which definitely made it look better by comparison. I can't recall any specific references in Community. However, according to IMDb, Jim Rash played a "Technician" in Minority Report, so…

Yeah, the Silence (or is it Silents?) are really well designed. It's actually pretty unsettling when their faces stretch and distort as they kill people with their finger-lightning. Doctor Who gets a lot of (justified) criticism for the cheesiness of its special effects, but this is one instance where they got it…

This really is a memorable episode. What sticks with me is that it presents a version of insanity that's scarily easy to imagine: catching a glimpse of something that isn't really there, CAN'T be there, but then seeing it again, and again…haunting stuff.
Season 4 was a LOT of fun to watch the first time through. So many crazy twists and turns, which were awesome and annoying in roughly equal measures. Not surprisingly, it doesn't hold up all that well during a second viewing on DVD, but I've seldom had more fun watching TV than Angel S4 as it originally aired.

The Iliad
It would be hard to fault someone for giving up on the Iliad halfway through the Catalogue of Ships. However, it would be a gross understatement to say that it gets better after that. My recommendation: if you can't force yourself past the Catalogue, skid ahead to Book 18. If reading about the Shield of…
