PURRSEPOLIS!

Definitely a pleasant surprise to see Hecker's name in the new reviews. I ADORE Ravedeath (and also love Virgins and Harmony In Ultraviolet quite a bit), and I've got this one coming on pre-order. Can't wait to have some startlingly emotional responses to whatever you'd call his music/soundworks.

I found myself singing "Space Pants" to myself while doing some dishes during a commercial break. I think that means that it was my favorite, though I probably laughed the most at Killam's floating-body physicality. I missed most of the dialogue in that sketch from laughing over it.

Have you tried requesting it from your local library? There's a Criterion edition. (Mine has it, so I thought I'd pass the idea along.)

My first thought is Luna's "Penthouse" would make for a nice deluxe reissue. I now want that a lot, having thought of it. Thanks, article!

I think Honey Bunches of Goats gets at it to some extent downthread, but really, today, I don't quite know what felt so off about it in the moment. Something about the combination of the "young people are the worst" at it's most toothless and out-of-touch-seeming COMBINED with the "just jump" bit struck me as kind of

I thought there HAD to be some twist to the premise. It seemed way too pointlessly mean-spirited in it's get-off-my-lawn-itude for that to be the core of the, uh, concept.

I missed the first fifteen seconds of The Millenials. Did it start with the announcer saying, "A new series from Aaron Sorkin."?

Nick's inability to find a new identity really hit me fully when Nay says something along the lines of, "you can do anything you want now!". The look Oscar Isaac plays Nick with there is just so… hollow. All he wants is what he can't have, actually. It was the epitome of someone saying the worst possible thing when

"Teleprompters"

I liked how Major's "Car Trouble" was immediately followed by Clive talking about how the key to a stakeout is patience.

that's my single favorite simpsons moment ever

which is hilarious because in my head i had it compared to Water for Chocolate and Aquemini when trying to make sense of it

I was hoping for "yogurt" and then there was "yogurt".

Strawberry Hill!?!?

I have a hard time classifying books the same way I do music, television or movies. I'm almost always reading something from at least the year before. So almost all of my "books of the year" are also "being or having finally, um, got(ten?) around to".

COME DOWN TO US…
