I have read Mistborn both that book and the trilogy itself wrap things up neatly. Plus I actually believe him when he says The Way of Kings will be exactly 10 books. Perhaps I wasn't clear but I think he's an author who writes with an end in sight, even if he is working on a bigger project.

The Mistborn books are great and go by fast but I would start with one of his standalones: Elantris or Warbreaker. I actually think Warbreaker is his best work. It certainly has my favorite characters.

As you note in your first post the review says "atrocity" not "time" or "period." Though I suppose you could consider the entire late 1970s an atrocity if you really hate disco and tube tops.

Happy I could help by reading a bad book so you don't have to.

The quick fix for that is just to go to the Hidden Chronicles Facebook site and friend many of the people who've posted "Friend Me" in the comments section there or just posting "Friend Me" yourself. There are tons of people in the same boat of needing to advance but being unable to persuade people they actually know

I am ashamed how many of my Facebook status updates over the last two weeks have been about this game. But if I don't do it I won't get the fish food I need to progress.

After being read "The Velvetine Rabbit" as a kid I would make myself sleep without my favorite stuffed animal whenever I got sick for fear my parents would take it away and burn it otherwise. My parents tried to explain to me that that kid was really sick and I could still have my stuffed animals when I had a cold but

The tags were mentioned in an earlier comment that was removed.

I don't write the tags and am also sad a mistake was inserted there. I am aware of the many Warhammer 40K games out there and just meant to say that this is a new franchise with a sequel clearly planned if this makes any money. Sorry for not being clear.

Thanks! This was one of those books where I would plan on just reading one chapter before going to sleep and then just keep going until an hour had gone by. I immediately passed it along to my fiance and have gotten even more enjoyment out of talking about it with him both while he was reading it and after he

Mike R, you made me blush!

They play the game alternately called Werewolf, Witch Hunt and Mafia.

It helps a bit but not fully. He has the tendency to use words in other languages (Hebrew, Japanese, Russian) to represent concepts, societies or subcultures that are supposed to be common knowledge in the books. So knowing what a word translates as just gives you a vague idea as to how it's being used.

I found the information on the wireless telegraph in "Thunderstruck" absolutely fascinating but the murder plotline never caught my interest. I would say this is better than "Thunderstruck" but nowhere near as good as "Devil."

The book's only $13 on Amazon and while it took me a night rather than a week to read I got much more enjoyment reading about it and talking about it than many $25 400 page books I've read. But if money's an issue check the library or find a Borders that's still open and read it there.

Both came out last year so they're past the point that we'd review them, but thanks for the recommendations.

I really have to disagree with Asuka's point that the disconnect here between critic reviews and user reviews is caused by critics not playing the game enough. Metacritic seems to only allow you to look at the 60 most recent user comments but even there a significant portion of them are from March 8, the game's

They seem to be regularly making tweeks to the game so it's possible that after I played that feature of the detours was edited out. I noticed in some later missions that I just received XP but I thought it might just be a random chance thing.
