Christian Bale didn't seem to be hamming it up except for the voice. I think people have been forgetting how good he was now that the voice has become such a joke.

I feel bad for him. He's a good actor who constantly gets stuck in the worst roles on good sitcoms.

I passed the set (probably just a second unit) for this movie in time square a few weeks back. They were pretty much just cleaning up, but I couldn't help but notice that—true to the Michael Bay spirit—the entire set was mostly occupied by a giant American flag.

It's a wonderful restaurant!

Jeph Loeb is to blame for the third one, though.

I love The Ultimates, hacky dialogue or no hacky dialogue, and the ridiculous-and-also-great Hawkeye fingernails sequence is a big part of why I love the Ultimates.

Hitman, on the other hand, is still great.

I agree with @tonymines01:disqus  that Kick-Ass was good despite Millar, and I would also give Matthew Vaughn a lot of credit for Kick-Ass working. I'm in the minority here, and I like Hellboy 2 a lot, but I like Hellboy a lot more. It's one of the few superhero movies that actually feels both huge and self-contained at the same time. It's also a big(gish)-budget studio movie that's centered around Nazi occultists working with Rasputin to awaken a Lovecraftian

I actually did start with Blood Meridian and loved it, but to be fair, Greg Proops' podcast gave me fair warning of the craziness I was about to read.

I would also take 24-hour Crocodile Hunter marathons.

Go to the beach, go on a ghost tour, go see a play, go eat some good food, I dunno. I'm in Rhode Island just about every weekend and I've never been able to find much to do. Roger Williams has a pretty good zoo, I guess.

It's a weak superhero movie, but a great Shane Black movie, if that makes sense.

And in addition to being good, it was an original story without any name actors.

Right….because the mindless masses really embraced Drive. It was a real Grown-Ups level hit.

Maybe it's something about the lighting, but I can't watch this without thinking that they smell pretty bad, too.
