That would be a more apt comparison if Joss Whedon took my local Costco and turned it into a genuinely great Costco, raising the bar for Costcos everywhere and making it the one really satisfying Costco of the summer, despite ignoring the more popular trend of making Costcos dark and gritty.

The comic's more ambiguous ending is way more satisfying, I think. At the end of the comics, England is still a miserable cesspool with gangs of criminals running around freely. At the end of the movie, Anonymous saves the day and has a fireworks party.

I'd like it more if they brought in people who worked on the movie more often, but I think they did that maybe twice this year. They still haven't put out anything as interesting as that Punisher War Zone episode from last year.

Holy Motors vs. The Master is a pretty tough choice. I'd say overall I loved The Master slightly more but I'm more likely to rewatch Holy Motors a bunch of times.
