Really?  What country's election have you been watching?  Here is a totally unverifiable truth:  The overwhelming majority of voters alive in 1984 could not tell you anything substantial about Ronald Reagan's political platform, but I guarantee they remember him using Born In The USA.

You are probably right, since it fits in with their basic strategy of "say whatever we want, it'll take weeks for them to prove we're lying and, by then, nobody is listening anyway."
