I hope she also smoked in the movie theatre
in my experience cats really like bossa nova. I lived with a cat who would actually purr with pleasure when we played Astrud Gilberto, and also Stereolab (though maybe it was the sultry accent that did it, he was a bit of a flirtatious cat ladies' cat- as much as you can be when you're neutered)
i think for my birthday this year I just want Kieran Read to smile at me in person
yay to the Vampire Weekend gig, boo to the fighting
the Grace-metalkid (whose name i can't remember) story gets good. both words like anxious, guilty and uncomfortable in your posts make me think you need this in your life- spoilers be damned:

have you caught up on more "Skins"? on the topic of misogyny- or let's call it 'gender politics' I've rewatched "Top of the Lake"- some creepy dreams from that experience
I'm replying to your NZ politics thread (i'm a bit clumsy with this, Disqus & I aren't sympatico) I think Cunliffe will do good things for Labour (the caucus are only nth many of the membership) & Russel Norman is more & more impressive- whip-smart on National Radio this morning talking economics.
oh so prescient "chorus" vs. "caucus". sheesh
so what's your next option: I've just caught the end of "Shorty" involving Vasa in an extremely lame internet dating story. or have you fast-tracked through that as well?
thanks for the timing of your comment! I was just contemplating starting "Top of the Lake" but feeling a bit meh, and now you've convinced me
yeah, Shane Jones thrusting the "beauty queen" new partner/campaign manager angle was a jarring note. I think the agreement that David and Grant made wasn't just to protect Grant and his partner from speculation about being in a same-sex marriage (Alf is lovely, but is very shy) but was also to protect Cunliffe's…
that's right, by the time you're 29 you should be ill-advisedly hooking up with someone you have to work with
the people playing the parents in the early seasons are fantastic
don't feel too bad, when I first read that I thought it said "hooked up with someone really disgusting" which seems a lot worse
here's a recent interview with Sly and some of the Family Stone (not altogether unfortunately):

maybe a Dream Thread could be a regular thing now…or not, I also had a depressing/feelings dream. I dreamed that for some reason I had to stay overnight with my ex-husband and his real-life subsequent wife at their apartment, and all I wanted to do was go to bed early and avoid having to make smalltalk and eat dinner…
nah, in Dunedin it's definitely a roundabout. That is the recognised technical term. Merry-go-rounds are the things with the horses that only come to the A & P show and New Year's family race day (if you're lucky)
it seems so different to the 2011 World Cup and Dan Carter's groin injury meant we were DOOMED. Even with Colin Slade in it's like, oh yeah, we've got this
