My intuition is that her OCD crops up when she has major writing assignments due. It has to be stress over being judged on something she really cares about. I imagine that her 'OCD' will come back when she goes to grad school - which sounds like the most mundane plot line ever.

There was a throw away line at the beginning of the season (I don't remember which episode specifically) where Hannah mentions that she applies to grad school every year.
