I think that Weiland could pretty much replace the rest of the band with session rockers and make a go of playing STP songs on his own (see David Lee Roth in the late 80s). By the same token, The DeLeo's could do the same with any singer of moderate charisma and vocal range (Sammy Hagar).

They've agreed to split the brand. The Deleo brothers will own the hard rockin' guitar stuff, and Weiland can carry on the raging douchebag drug addict division.

If it weren't for their drummer's sake, I would say that this would be an excellent time to reunite Army of Anyone. Richard Patrick is a much more reliable human being, and he can cover the STP vocal duties quite nicely.

For my money you can't beat Tea and Bird's Eye View from Brendan Benson's One Mississippi.
