Betrayed the characters how?
Betrayed the characters how?
He rejects the Kolinar in TMP, though, and never goes back. That's a flat rejection of pure logic. He cries in that movie, laughs, and holds hands and never feels the shame he would have in TOS.
You can't be torn and angsty for your whole life, though. It's like the Spock we meet in TOS is a teenager. He doesn't fit his own skin. It's really gratifying to see him come of age in a very respectful and mature manner. It's good to see him content.
That's a great synopsis.
Or any film.
Dude, for me AGT is the last moment of any Trek, ever. It's not that hard to pull off.
Come, come. Only Final Frontier is unequivocally bad. The rest all have their ups and downs. Undiscovered Country is pitch perfect.
I do disagree that TNG is a better show than TOS. I find the TOS triumvirate much more likeable than the entire TNG crew. I think they have more growth. I think they grow old more gracefully. I think Kirk, with all his passion, intelligence, and pure humanity is a much more timeless and interesting character than the…
Spock benefits the most, I think. By TUC he's extremely comfortable with his human side and even uses it to his benefit. It's almost as if the V'Ger incident showed him that even the most logical machines crave a "leap beyond logic".
To be fair, Kirk was deepened by some really forced logic, like that he never faced death. I think watching him turn his dead brother over in "Operation: Annihilate" makes that utter BS.
Calling Insurrection superior to First Contact is damning with faint praise indeed.
Pretty much, dude. Pretty much.
I hate to ask, but who was the "blonde Star Trek chick"? Not Crosby?
Considering no military hasn't been tasked with exploring the Earth in centuries we wouldn't really know what a modern ship would do when dealing with the unknown. If we go back to the ancient European explorers/conquerors, the captain did get out of the boat and take a look around first chance he got.
Funny that the only two times Picard is sexual is when he's a double and when he's faking it.
Oh, Mrs. Peel. You've given me the vapors! My wife would not approve!
According to Wikipedia the Frappucino was already in existence when Starbucks purchased the brand in 1994. By the time DS9 started saying Raktijino every five minutes later in its run it was probably a house hold name. It could also be a space pun on cappuccino, but would that be any less douchie?
Do they ingest the beans, poop them out, and then roast them to perfection?
Yanks and Comms were in TOS, Richie. Gene wrote that one himself. The E Plebnista and all that.
About the only thing enjoyable in Insurrection is Troi and Riker. It's sexy and it's heart felt and it's the only adult relationship in the whole show. You got the feeling it would have really worked if they had just given it a chance. And it would have been nice to see it happen in AGT instead of trying to codify the…
