They can replicate clothes. They probably got new outfits right in the transporter room.

Which is the one where data says "I stroke the beard thusly" and a hand starts rubbing Riker's face as he's laying down?
Don't even try to legitimize something in TNG by citing Voyager.
@George Liquor, You're right. With a take so prone to trapping you inside you would think there would be a physical off switch hidden somewhere that you could release from inside the room.
I'm sorry. I hit the post button *once* and three postings popped up. I'm sure I did something to cause it. Happens to the best of us. No need to insult.
Fist full of crap
I gotta disagree on Fistful. Not only does Brent Spiner get a chance to overact but, as I've said before, Data should never be made dangerous. It degrades his character and makes it hard to trust him. It makes you realize he's just a machine and a hard to control one at that. The only thing that…

I feel sad. Its my thread and I wasn't even invited.
LOL! I didn't even realize that even the warm milk was technobabbled. Wow! Who wrote this thing? And did they go on to write all of Voyager?
Too much Technobabble
I know Berman Trek is famous for technobabble, but this is the very first time, I think, that we have ever seen it go this far. Every little facet of this episode had a long, BS science name. All the particles, all the beams, all the effects. Everything. There were so many moment where they could…
They could have saved all this by replacing a simple line and making it seem like what I thought was originally happening until they replaced it. From Troi's facial expressions it seemed like she was personally killing Alkar by consciously diverting the flow back at him. That would have made Troi seriously self…
No, I think by year four they could have handled a Shatner episode. The show was definitely in its own by then. It would have been nice to see some conflict between him and Picard. To see him failing and ultimately dying. The Scotty episode is too touchy feely. Perhaps TNG couldn't do that kind of darkness and regret…
I agree. Geordi was being an ass to someone who should have been his idol. The man logged 30 years as chief engineer of the flagship. When he says he wrote the book I believe him. There was no reason for him to be annoyed at Scotty. He should have been worshiping him.
I think Kirk had a better ending planned
I don't think people give "Too Short a Season" a fair shake. The actor playing Jameson was awful, but I think the concept was really solid. And it's relevant now after we're talking about a cast member's return and the recent Generations review. Kirk was supposed to star as the…
Jim Morrison
He'd have been directing bad films. Or maybe really good ones.
With an inverse tachyon pulse.
The thing is, two episodes later they would totally do a 180 from this idea by keeping Scotty in the transporter for 70 years and him having no idea how long he was under. Certainly he would have been conscious mid transport as well.
Going way too easy on Realm of Fear
If you're going to fuck so badly with a known concept like the transporter where your being taken apart and put back together again and make it so you are conscious in the energy stream and turn into a worm while beaming then it better be a fucking good plot for it.
I knew he went to deflector control and I have a wife with amazing boobies and a kid. There's hope for you yet, my friend.
