I was like "weird, there's an article about this on 538 right now" and then I clicked on it and saw that it was just Tony Hue using his platform to share that 538 article with us, and then I was like "this is a story."

No problems so far, but I haven't tried to do anything fancy. Boot time is wicked fast but that's at least as much due to the SSD as the OS. I agree with the launch reviews I remember reading that the real star is the taskbar Search. It's made it a breeze to find settings and specs that were hidden in a maze of menus…

Update: I have set all of my apps to render at 150% their native size and now everything is back to normal.

Hello from my new laptop! I have successfully installed the additional RAM, ousted the evil McAfee bloatware that was preventing me from downloading chrome, and made peace with many aspects of Windows 10. I will wrestle with the BIOS to get it to recognized my additional hard drive on another day.

Right now it's 86 and feels like 94. This afternoon it'll be 94 and feel like 101. At least the humidity's relatively low. We'll probably get back into the afternoon thunderstorm pattern soon enough though.

Great! The movie in general is a great showcase of practical effects at the height of their powers, and that's certainly one of the most striking.

For all its flaws, Crystal Skull usually looked pretty good. I don't know that it matches Raiders' visual qualities that well but it matches the other two.

Unnatural? Yes, since ID4 as an acronym never made much sense anyway. Cumbersome? Not by a long shot. That honor belongs to some ungodly subtitled sequel or another. Actually IJatKotCS is probably up there as one of the worst. PotC:DMTNT will be pretty bad too, if it ever comes out.

Moderately. I hope that they'll have learned their lessons from Indy 4 and will be able to more successfully do a man-out-of-time story, but I'm not counting on it. Really all I want is for them to acknowledge the fan theory that the grail made Indy semi-immortal, which would explain a lot about KotCS and paper over…

Yeah, by far. I have never seen the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles but I've been vaguely curious for a long time.

Haven't seen it, and it seems a little late now for him to step up horror movie production, especially considering the formulas the genre seems to have settled into in the 21st century.
