Yeah I found the opening incredibly effective in FDOC for the reasons you articulate (it's basically my favorite part of each episode, and I loved a lot of parts of those episodes) so it was sad that the way it was cut here made it consistently underwhelming.

There's a great extra joke with the Chris Pine stuff if you've just watched the end of FDOC. The pickup truck hitchhiking scene is at the very end of the last episode following a "One Week Later" title card. Which means they got rebuilt into murderous cyborgs, killed a foreign dignitary, became known as the CIA's most

They actually (FINALLY) replaced it with a Google site search a few months ago, so it's fine now.

They won't and we won't. Also they'll be practically inaccessible because Kinja loads approximately 0.2 comments per click.

Oh boy, I can't wait for all my comments to be decontextualized by thread flattening and rendered (even more) inaccessible by an impenetrable thicket of 'load more comments'!

No, but how would you feel about loading 5 at a time?

It's like you've never even looked at this website.

I don't see anything about sorting or subthreads in this comment. I assume that the functionality does not exist yet, and therefore we can only expect it to be implemented in approximately 4-∞ years?

Will there be a way to sort threads chronologically as well? I interact with the site comments by coming back a couple times and checking what's been said since I last was there (sometimes this occurs over the course of 2 years, since I'm active on the Community review). If there's no way to sort top-level replies

Perhaps they'll be fixed when the show notifications system comes back! I know it's been four years but they said they were working on it…

All the old AV Club accounts are still technically Disqus accounts underneath. Yours is @avclub-1b6a85b8fc1fb7c71201b666cb81677b

Well now it's 160793.

Well now it's 160793.

The Ghost Rider FX were nothing short of amazing considering this was the same show that couldn't even render convincing CG fire in its first season.

And Emmys.

They ended up being rushed but they didn't have to be. They had 7+ years to figure it out and waited until the last minute like it was a high school project. Much like post-production on The Dark Tower.

Homecoming sets up for Miles Morales so they're at least starting to lean in that direction.

Fox can keep cosmic fart Galactus. Marvel would put the real deal on screen. Hela has laid the groundwork for recreating the wackiest of Jack Kirby's helmets.

One thing's for sure: whoever it is will come back eventually.

Pretty sure Sony would have the rights to THE SWARM
