Hahaha…. writers doing well… ;-)
A very, very good question. We shall see. With Roseanne, who knows?
Yup. I can think of some even from very recently.
In the end, I think I agree that this probably won't work. The reasons for that any many and hardly need restating here. But, of the show from the late 80s/ early-mid-90s to resurrect, there's a lot more potential with Roseanne, especially given the following:
More, I think, a mutual safety measure. But perhaps that, too.
I think her suicide attempt was sincere and that she did hope it would work (in that moment). That changed, however, I suspect, in part because she saw Sarah.
Frankly, in terms of characterization, even Big Dick Paul had more going for him. And, say whatever else we will about him, I don't think anyone would be able to (legitimately) accuse Dylan Bruce of hilariously overacting.
Yeah, making him a fraud was a fantastically bad idea. It might have worked, say, in season 3 or 4, before going further up the ladder, but at this stage it just plays poorly.
Agreed, entirely. It also didn't help that the show basically wanted McHattie to be all over the map, dramatically speaking, based on whatever plot contrivances they wanted to introduce. The show thoroughly dropped the ball with all aspects of PTW and, damn, did that become blindingly apparent in this episode.
It's one of the few shows from that period that, technology aside, seems to have aged really, really well. I'd even suggest it has aged much better than many major shows which came well after it.
I wish I could remember. Something in the back of my head says that he just got axed along with everyone else when the factory got sold or shut-down or whatever. But, I think you're at least kinda right — wasn't there a thing about him lowering (refusing) quotas or something like that?
This was amplified because we knew Dan would put up with quite a lot, even if he didn't like it, and usually remain reasonably affable about it. If not, David would've been nothing more than loose meat decades ago.
Definitely not Gillian. She has more work than she knows that to do with, in terms of offers, anyway.
I suspect they wouldn't have got Goodman back if it went down that psychotic path. He's actually in a position where he could turn down the job, knowing work which would pay just as well or better is little more than waiting a few minutes for the next bus to come along.
From what I've heard. He always seemed like it — and has for decades.
He was callous and superficial, but that was the worst that could be said about him. And he was never against the Wellman staff as much as he was, like them, stuck in a shit position. Cloon also had good chemistry with Laurie Metcalfe.
Could've been worse. Could've been granddad.
I read this with Rod Roddy 's voice in my head, as if it were the sting to an episode of Soap.
Or Arrested Development, except Leon is actually Gene Parmesan.
