As someone commented to me yesterday:

LOL

True. That also coincided with show going to darker places (Jackie's abuse by her boyfriend; both Jackie's and Roseanne's abuse by their father; the way nothing ever seemed to turn out even remotely right for the Conners generally).

That was heartbreaking. And, sadly, it fit, not just with the final season madness, but with all of the previous stuff about his weight, their eating habits, his various stressors (loss of the shop, Darlene's wedding, etc.), and on and on. It all fit.

I thought masturbation was the easiest way to do that.

Clever….

Like Clarence in It's A Wonderful Life?

You'd be amazed what vagina-monsters can do…

Interesting question: is Ed Conner (Dan's dad) still gonna be around? It'd be great to see Ned Beatty on TV again — and with John Goodman again, that'd be awesome. IMDB says Ned hasn't done anything since 2013, but I'd like to think he could come back. Gotta love Ned Beatty and casting him as Dan's father was a

I don't think it was Clooney (Booker) but another guy— Fisher, maybe? Something like that.

And the writers were or got big: Joss Whedon, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Chuck Lorre…

I'd not be surprised if Clooney pops in for a cameo. He was always pretty upfront about what the show did for his career and he has been known to do stuff just for shits and giggles.

And he can sing, dance and improvise with the best of 'em. There's a reason he's either 2nd or 3rd on the SNL hosting records.

But York and Sargent are dead, so who can we get to play Darren Stevens? I've got it: Dan Stevens! (Definitely not Andy Dick.)

He's still a lot easier to find than Waldo.

With special guest star, Norman Lloyd!

Then you'd have had trouble with Bette Midler's old routine bit, shouting "ugly women have pussies too!"

"And that's when Becky…. cut the cheese…."

Roseanne definitely could act — at least that part, anyway — really well. There were a lot of heartbreaking bits in the show she sold the hell out of, like confronting her father's coffin. A lot of the hate she got was generalized, based on stuff she did in public (like butchering the US national anthem

When the show was first airing, most people I knew absolutely couldn't stand Roseanne Barr— they saw her as loud, obnoxious and grating and absolutely hated her. (My mother was definitely one of those people.) Yet, those same people also liked, or even loved, Roseanne, the show, and for most if not all of them, that
