(I wrote a different, longer post earlier and then deleted it assuming I got my maths wrong. So I rechecked them, and here we are.)

On the one hand, some studies (of some veracity, maybe?) have found that people who pirate music often buy more music. So, if you're okay with socializing the benefits of music consumption that might be meaningful. It also might not, as often the same people who are pirating music and paying for more of it would be

It would be one thing if Tidal were any different than Spotify, but it doesn't seem to be so.

Not to be confused with the slow and incomprehensible but feature-rich Star Wars: Episode Emacs

I enjoy the big red slashed circle as a knock-off Big Red No. Nice bit of ironic humor, that.

If I could be allowed to spitball, maybe by not trying to incorporate them as if they were true? Perhaps by not spending quite as much time with Kyle taking shot after shot, none of which, in the end, cast a shred of doubt about the righteousness of Kyle's cause?

You probably couldn't get that house for $800/month in Iowa City. But certainly you could in more rural parts of the state.

Whateverthehell Uproxx is really fucked this one up. Half a year ago there was half a round with Breaking Bad quotes as category titles[1]. None of the contestants registered familiarity.

I figured he'd converted to Islam, as one does when he realizes he has fucked up his life.

The Giardia Giant is George Jiang, from the subtitles.

I don't disagree with you. I think the show, and specifically the character of Sheldon, are often criticized for just the reasons you have given. It is perhaps too much to expect that a certain person should find their exact match in a television show, but it would be nice if the way nerdy obsessive-types were

I don't think the writers' insistence on Sheldon not being autistic is intended to mean that he doesn't exhibit the traits of a person on the spectrum, just that they don't want him to be anything specific because that might limit what they want to do with him.

The writers of the show have been asked if Sheldon has Aspergers', and their response has been that he does not have that specific condition, but only because that would limit what they could do with the character. The less-generous reading of that is that this way he's allowed to continue being awful, but rather than

So it died on its way to its home planet?

I was under the impression that Quidditch teams were pretty much just a college club thing, and the timeline of the series suggests that they would have been out of college (even finished with grad school) before Quidditch as a recreational activity became popular. So, yeah, lame.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty clear. At the same time, though, it (perhaps coincidentally) doesn't change anything about Sheldon continuing to be an insufferable asshole in that scene, which I thought was Sava's point.

Well, registered somewhere. Could also be in the, "Hey, I just moved to your neighborhood, and I'd like to tell you something about myself" kind of way…

Previous to reading this article, I had not heard this "Fancy" song. I have now heard it. Listening to it once, I hope, meets the required quota for being a person who is familiar with the culture around him/her. Otherwise I'd have to hear some more of it, and I really don't want that to happen.
