On Friday I saw the restored 35mm print of Touch of Evil, then To the Wonder again (I saw a free advanced screening on the 1st). On Saturday, I saw Upstream Color again (I went to an advanced screening and Q&A with Carruth in February). Today I saw The Place Beyond the Pines and later watched Mad Men.

In purely reductive terms, I fucking hated Drive and loved this. So.

Wait, why was "Once More with Feeling" not on here? Because it's the entire episode?

Scott's writing, and leadership of the film content on this site, has done more for my film education and appreciation than film school ever did. That's not a detriment to my school, that's a compliment to how putting forth consistent quality work and engaging the readers (both here and on Twitter) can open up new

As someone with the username Superdeformed, I'd be remiss to not chime in with Matthew Sweet's "Someone to Pull the Trigger."

I missed it a couple episodes ago when he wrote that, but Joshua Brand was the co-creator/producer for Northern Exposure. A few more liberties with the dialogue in this series.

You know you can just start one comment thread and put or edit everything into that, right? I'm hearing Principal Rooney's voice "Nine times… Nine times… Nine times."

I saw it several weeks ago in San Francisco with Carruth also doing a Q&A. (I got my copy of Primer autographed.) I agree, he seemed very genuine and appreciative. They actually screened it again for free for anyone that wanted the benefit of a second viewing but It was past my bedtime. If you guys can't make it to a

I saw him open up the Bridge School Benefit Concert in 1996 and have been a fan ever since. I might need to take a drive to see him this time around.

Holy shit I'm glad my boss isn't in right now. Kudos.
