Agreed on the dropping. Like instead of having only have actual storyline, and a couple of filler sub plots, they can use that time to give more meat to certain stories. Eg. Rosa and Marcus. Criminally underdeveloped. Some more actual police work a la s1 too.

I thought Jake sold his car though.

Call me crazy but I like the occasional dark/serious tone? It adds some realism that I think the show needs sometimes. Policework isn't all fun and games. Besides, Hoytsman was such an OTT villain that it was hard to be too worried. I will say there was some more intense moments that I was surprised by (Jake

Yeah, reading this now I'm just realizing that it's true, no one gets knocked down a peg as rarely as Gina.

I honestly think this show struggles with balance. Like they don't ever want one character's storyline to overtake the show, but end up going the complete other way where no one storyline tends to get enough screentime/buildup.

I do think that the father storyline felt rushed at the end. Like, Jake had been blindly optimistic, till he wasn't. I know they needed him to be around for the final confrontation, but it felt weird that after showing up all the time prior in this episode, it would be missing the bar hangout that would open his eyes.

Suffice to say, Jake has not been having the best year.

I may have made an embarrassing noise or two. Really all I wanted from a Jake/dad storyline was the show pointing out who he had a real 'father' in Holt.

Pretty sure, if vague spoilers mean anything, that they're going to come back to Jake/Amy in another episode or two. I mean, already they have Boyle bringing up his past crush, which no one has talked about in ages.

A good number of fans on Tumblr are wondering if the show subtly implied Jake was bisexual tonight. I feel like this has always been like, at least 30% canon (you know it's true), so I'm going to go with it, even though I'm also 80% sure the Gerald line was written as just a joke.

Billy was played by Tyler Posey, who's 21.
