*something* is going on with the sudden resurgence in Grateful Dead fandom.

100 percent agree. Prometheus has some great looking sets, cool effects, and one great set piece in the alien abortion.

Just saw this last night; an absolute dogshit film. Ridley Scott has turned into a pretty inconsistent filmmaker, but usually at minimum you get some great looking production design. This movie looked like a cheap episode of The Expanse (ON SYFY).

That scene always cracks me up, with Fagan correcting Becker that the feel of the solo is "Polynesian" not "Hawaiian".

Brian Eno's early records have such great guitar playing. I love the Manzenera solo on Eno's "The True Wheel". It seems so simple at first, till the layers of guitar start to drift and eventually spin off in different directions.

I can totally see that. I didn't actually read it until my 20's, when I was reading a lot of Le Guin's sci-fi stuff. I found the book deeply profound ( especially for a book about a boy wizard in wizard school), but I wonder if it would have had the same impact on me if i were reading it at 13. It's definitely

Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea cycle is an interesting example of a white author attempting to create a non eurocentric fantasy world, and with it being nearly 50 years old, its way ahead of its time. I think Ruiz's larger point definitely still stands, but I gotta say I find the Earthsea books more compelling than 99%

Yeah, I love early M83. Hadn't heard this track before, was it a Dead Cities b-side?

I was just about to mention the Nyro oversight.

"HEY DADDYS GHOUL. TAKE A KNEE."

Ha! My dad used to play in Nils Lofgren's band. The man can still rip solos while flipping on a trampoline.

Leave it to Italians to call toasted bread "Italian toast".

"True Affection" sounds like it fell backwards in time from album four
(Tilmans shameless attempt at reinventing his sound to appeal to a even wider audience/alienate fans of his old stuff).

I'll be periodically checking up on the old Cannibalistic flesh-eating bloodlust tag.

Cannibalistic Flesh-Eating Bloodlust, eh? Good to see Moz still has a way with words. I was beginning to worry after his last three records.

I know that Charlie Hunnam is literally English, but after Pacific Rim, I genuinely wonder if he can pull off a British accent.

Why is Paul pretending to play the organ part on his acoustic guitar? Stop mugging, dude.
